I parked the car in the driveway and hurried up the front porch. Ever since my parents passed I lived with Hallie, her mom , and her sister.

I fumbled with the keys, finally finding the right one and swinging open the front door. I hardly had a chance to close the door before Hallie rushed down the stairs and attacked me with questions.


I stared at her with my mouth opened as she completely word vomited all over me. I hardly understood what she was saying. "Hallie," I said "Calm. DOWWN".

She laughed "Sorry, Its just I'm so excited to hear about what happened!"

I shook my head and laughed retreating up the stairs into our bedroom. Hallies little sister Eve sat in her bed hugging her knees to her chest "Hi Piper," she said quietly "I want to hear to." she gave me a bright smile

I nodded and pulled a quilt over my lap. I told my tale.

Hallie and Eve sat listening to every detail. The "Wow"ed and "No way" d to some parts. Good listening runs in the family. Thtas how you can tell I'm not blood related. Last time Hallie's dad told me NOT to do the laundry I did it anyway and all his underwear were small enough for a doll to wear. I was the only one who found the situation hilarious i geuss.

I got to the end of my tale quickly saying "Andmeandniallkissed" Hallie raised an eyebrow

"What was that last part?" Eve insisted

"Nothing" I hurried "Story times over children." I flicked off the lights. Immediatly they were turned back on.

"What.Did.You.Say?" Hallie asked angrily shooting my a look.

I sighed "I said Niall and I kissed."

Eve gaped at me and Hallies jaw dropped right after her. I used my hands to push their jaws back up, but they kept dropping. Ugh
