I didn't start work until Saturday, they didn't have anything for me to do so I was walking the stony cold paths of New York. Wondering the streets and looking at billboards, I had a craving for some coffee so I was heading to the local cafe`. I know New York pretty well since when I was 6 years old, I was born in Florida but raised in New York. But since my mom passed and my dad went out of the states I had to ruff it out on my own, that's why I needed a job.

I was lost in my thoughts until an arm collided with mine and knocked me on my firm bum. I looked up to see the one and only; my ex.

Louis Tomlinson.

Louis was my boyfriend for 3 years until word got out that he was cheating on me with my best friend, Melissa. I didn't believe it until I saw how close they were, whenever we go to watch movies he sat by her. I didn't let it bother me until I walked in from a stormy night and saw they were cuddling and sharing sweet kisses. I never thought I would see him again, never again. I got up brushing off my skirt, my hair slightly messes up.

My purse laid gently by his foot, he picked it up and handed it to me.

"Hey Coral, how you been"?, he asked politely, his hands stuffed in his pockets/

"I'm fine, and I have to go", I began walking away until a cold hand appeared on my clothed shoulder. Turning me towards him, taking a step back.

"Where you going"?, I really didn't want to be having a conversation with my ex in the middle of rush hour, and plus my feet were killing me. I brushed his hand off and pulled the strap of my purse up and waved him off, smiling a little walking off.

He took that as a sign to go, I just really wanted to be alone. No distractions for me. I walked in the little cafe` and walked up to the cashier, she had blonde hair that fell gently onto her porcelain skin, her eyes were of the blue sea which her beautiful eyelashes covered, and she had a petite frame.

I smiled at her which she returned.

"Hey I'm Shelia, nice to meet you", her voice was a little squeaky in some ways, that I had to put my pointer finger over my ear.

"Hello, I'm Coral", I responded back, my voice a little off today. For somewhat odd reason.

"That's a nice name, what would you like"?

Coral, Coral was a name my parents thought of because they were awaiting a boy to pop out of my mother's vagina. But instead they got me, they had a baby boy clothes already set out and everything. I thought they didn't want me after I overheard a conversation with one of my mom's friends.

I was 8 then.

Me and my mother didn't get along well so me and my dad had more of a bond. We never had any mother-daughter moments, I never really knew her. Only the part that I knew was her name, Lauren. Even though now she's gone I wished I spent more time with her then avoiding her smiles and stares.

"Thanks, I'm just really tired and it's rush hour", looking out into the busy streets, people pushing past people, falling over, and a horrible sight to see. She nodded her head like she knew what I meant, then I remembered that my rent needed paying soon, and I had no money. I used it all on the funeral, which my dad didn't help with at all.

I gave her a weak smile and took a seat on the red, glossy stool. Twisting a little before I faced her again, she had freckles and one dimple on her left cheek. That's when my door opened causing me and Shelia's face to turn.

I turned my head hoping they wouldn't catch a glimpse of me, but I knew Louis would notice me. I turned to Shelia my eyes filled with sorrow.

"Don't say my name, please. I don't want them to see me", I pointed to them as they took a seat behind us. She nodded and stepped around the desk.

"Coral, Coral Scott"?
