Running After You
Twenty Four
I was bored out of my mind. It's been raining for days, and I've been stuck in the car. The radio had broken two days ago, so that made it even worse.
I lates out in the back of the car, trying to sleep. I could hear Niall’s perpetual hums to a tune I'd never head before. I could tell he didn't know I was awake.
Then he started to scat. it sounded really good, but eventually it turned back into restless, unknowing hums.
“It's raining,” I sang, “it's pouring, the old man is snoring. He bumped his head, went to bed, and never got up in the morning.”
“That's such a sad nursery rhyme, if you think about it.”
“Yeah, I guess. I don't really remember many anymore. I enjoy them, though.”
“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when the skies are grey…” Niall trailed off.
“Your voice is nice,” I said. “You should do something with it someday.”
“That's a thought.”
