Just A Little Bit
Ten
The room was heated from the tension. Calum and Zayn stood inches apart, each of their hands balled in fists, both their voices rising. What they were fighting over I had no idea. Elizabeth looked just as confused as I was- it had escalated so quickly.
I needed to stop this before things got physical.
"At least I have the decency to take her out on a date or two before kissing a girl!" Calum screamed at Zayn. If looks could kill both of them would be dead right now. Shit.
"She's just not somebody you can go and kiss!"
"Guess what?! I just fucking did!"
Zayn growled- like an animal. Actually fucking growled. What the fuck?! Do guys even do that? He raised a fist, daring Calum to say something else to piss him off. I decided now would be a good time to break this up.
I darted in front of Calum, only reveling in the fact that I was pressed against him for a tiny second. I backed him out of the way of Zayn's angry fist, just before he swung. Luckily he hit air but it only seemed to anger him even more.
"Grace, get out of the way. He'll hurt you." I heard Calum say down my neck. I shook my head, standing my ground.
"Zayn, look at me."
My pleading was no use, his attention was solely focused on the boy behind him. Calum's hands found my waist, his grip tight against him, trying his best to keep me away from Zayn's rage. Why was he even mad? Shouldn't I be the mad one? He was having sex with my room mate!
Nevertheless, I tried again to calm him down.
"Look at me!" I shouted. He kept coming closer and we kept backing up until there was no space left. Calum was flush against the wall, pulling me tight to his front.
"Look at me, please!"
Zayn was fucking scaring as hell. His jaw was tight, fists ready for a hit, eyes spinning with an unintentional emotion. He needed to stop before he hurt someone.
I felt his heavy breaths on me, seeing his tight black shirt. Instinctively, my hands pounded on his chest and Calum pushed me out of the way to take his hit. I stumbled to the side, fingers wrapping around the fabric in my hands and pulling down whoever with me.
Whoever it was above me was fucking heavy.
I winced and opened my eyes slowly, seeing heavy stubble running over the sharp jaw line, long eyelashes, and dark speckles of eyes. Zayn let out a shaky breath before lifting himself off of me, finally calmed down. I got out from beneath him, thinking back to the scene-of-fucking when I first walked in.
I went to Calum's side, staring at the floor. At least he was calmer now.
"What the fuck was that, Zayn?" I asked, my voice sounding strangely quiet in the still tense room.
"I'm sorry." I heard his scratchy voice. Calum shifted beside me and I looked up at him. Our eyes locked on each other and he provided a sympathetic smile.
"No hard feelings, Zayn." He shrugged off the argument just like that. I smiled back at him, glad that he wasn't angry any longer. He truly was an angel. An angel fighting against the devil.
"I have to go to work. I'm sorry I'm leaving after everything." His accent was a little heavier, but he lent down and kissed my cheek. "I'll text you after." I nodded and watched him go.
Now I'm left with the fucker and the fuckee. I ignored Zayn and turned to a very confused and distraught Elizabeth. "You need to go." I said sternly, pointing over my shoulder at the door. Hazel eyes met mine and her brows hunched over. But, because she was so embarrassed, she left without a word.
Now its just the fucker.
I bent down to pick up my bags, carrying them over to my desk and setting them down with a sigh. My bed wasn't made, slightly shaken from the incident before. I cringed looking at it. This was Zayn's final time to say a good word for himself.
I looked to him for him to start.
His mouth opened and he rambled words of apologies. I shook them away, seeing his apologies as fake. I no longer trusted him around Elizabeth or Calum. The look in his eyes...murderous. I no doubt figured he could beat Calum to death. Well, if Calum wasn't going to fight back. They would be a good match.
"Grace, he kissed you!"
I rolled my eyes, pointing at him dangerously.
"You fucked my room mate."
He threw his hands up. "So?"
"That's low."
"I can fuck whoever I want!"
"And I can kiss whoever and whenever I choose!"
He fell silent at this, realization dawning over him. I crossed my arms again, shaking my head and looking away from him. Even if I was angry with him, I still got the chills when he looked at me. As badly as I wanted Calum to hit him, I still wanted to take him to bed. The sensible part of me told me to kick him out. The part of me- the part that wanted him in bed- told me to go over and hug him.
Which would be a fucking bad idea now that Calum just kissed me three times.
"I don't know how you're going to make it up to me."
"I will. Just give me another chance." I scoffed, staring back at him with narrowed eyes. I already knew I would, the moment the words came out of his mouth. I was still putty in his hands, even if we weren't physically together at the moment.
"When's your next party?" I asked, the question foreign coming from my mouth. Me? Asking for the next party? Strange. Zayn also looked taken by surprise.
"Tomorrow night."
"Can I come?"
Zayn laughed a little, shaking his head like my question was amusing.
"Of course."
I nodded and opened the door for him. His eyes looked strangely desolate as he made his way out. How convenient the party was tomorrow.
"I'll be there." I mumbled.
I waited for Elizabeth to come back in before deciding to not tell her about the party. She opened her mouth to say something- probably about the sex scene- but I ignored her, changing into pajamas and going to bed.
I didn't give a damn if it was only 6:30.
O.o GRACE IS DEAD?! NOOOO!!
