To Me You Are Perfect.
Chloe POV
I went back home mom was still at work my mom works two jobs, that’s why she is always late coming back home. Mom decided to get a dog for me when I was younger, I call that dog angel.
Angel has been with me through my toughest times in my life, if she saw me crying she would jump on me and kiss me when my mom wasn’t at home. Today was a bad day I just broke down and cried on my bed, I cannot believe that such asshole exist in this earth.
Karen our maid came into my room and saw me crying, she patted my back and looked at me with innocent eyes. She told me in sign language what is wrong I didn’t want to tell her, so I just put my head down and shock my head.
Little did I know my mom was standing outside my door when Karen was inside, she ran to me and hugged me tightly I let out all my tears and hurt I was feeling from today.
Me: “Mom today was so bad there was this asshole in my class, that started laughing at me when I told him I was deaf. Am I not normal mom does my deafness make me abnormal, I can talk and see the only thing I cannot do so hear. Does that make me abnormal then the other kids?.”
My mom got a paper and a pen and wrote down what she had to say, she was a fast writer because she is a journalist she works for a publication. As well as a call receptionist in a company, she is working really hard to provide for me.
My mom told me to read this note out loud, “you are not abnormal you are unique. When you were born and I found out that you were deaf, at first I thought to myself how could you be deaf where did I go wrong. I got through that phase of questioning when I saw your smile and your first walk, I realized you were a blessing in sent from God. Other people may see you as abnormal but to me you are a talented and smart girl, you are perfect in mommy’s eyes.”
After I read that note I hugged my mom so tightly and all my fears and worries were all gone, because I may not be perfect to some people but to my mom I am perfect and that is all that matters.
