Forgive and Forget
Umm okay think Harry! What can you remember about last night? Lily was there, yes, obviously. UM...oh god....I remember taking off my pants. Where in the world was Jon when all of this BS went down?!
I got out of my bed and looked for clothes. Once I was partially dressed, I made my way to Jon's room. The corridor's seemed gloomier. The lights seemed dimmer. So this is what it feels like to lose your virginity. I knocked on the door once or twice but there was no reply. Fortunately the door was open. I found that ass lying on the bed, completely drunk with no pants on. "Jon wake up! Jon"
"What...stop shouting.."
"I think I slept with Lily"
"You wish"
"What?"
"You didn't sleep with her you idiot. I was there. You two passed out before any PG-13 action could happen."
"Okay."
I left. I just spent my morning dreading that I had actually slept with her. But now that I knew I hadn't, I don't know, I felt kinda sad? I don't know why that is a question. I made my way back to my room. I opened the door and saw her sitting on the bed, completely dressed, her eyes wide with surprise as she saw me walk in. I could see her mouth open and my brain predicted that a 'Lily Debate' was going to follow. "Before you say anything, I want you to know that we didn't sleep together. Like, we didn't have sex".
"I'm assuming that's what 'sleeping together' means"
"I asked Jon"
"You trust that drunk arsehole?" she said with immense sarcasm
"I would trust that drunk arse with my life"
She could see that I was serious. "Okay. I think I'll go get changed now. I'll see you guys for breakfast."
She started making her way across the room, to the door, when I grabbed her arm to stop her. "Look, I'm sorry I was so bitter this past week. You have every right to sleep with whomever you want, even if it's my jerk of a brother. I just wanted you to know that I'm sorry and that I want things to go back to the way they were". She smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. "I'm sorry too. I knew he was a jerk and I shouldn't have done that. But I don't think things can ever go back to the way they were".
And then she left.
