The Girl Next Door

The car pulled up into the driveway. Thousands of fans came rushing to the door. I greeted them as patiently as possible. "Harry, Harry!" they chanted. My heart swelled with gratefulness. I greeted as many as my eye could see. I searched through the crowd, where was she? After a few good minutes of autograph signing and hugging, the crowd finally started to dissipate. I looked over my shoulder and gave a 'thank you' nod to my head of security, Marcus. I really loved my fans but I had to meet someone else first. I went into the house that I stood in front of - 107, Aldrige Lane, Birkinshire. The door still made that creaking noise, the mat was still matted with Pooch's fur and my mom still stood in that tiny kitchen of ours, her face radiant as usual but with ten times happiness as usual. "Oh Harry! You're back! Oh, congratulations love, I am so proud of you!". Her eyes started tearing up and as usual I was there to wipe them off. "Oh mum, stop crying, I know how proud you are. Now, where is that amazing smell coming from?". She threw her hands up in the air and laughed, making her way back into the kitchen bustling around, handing out brownies to the crew. While going around the living room, she called out to me and said, "Oh Harry dear, there was this fan waiting outside the door. I let her into your bedroom. I hope you don't mind." "Mum! You can't let people in there at random!" I shouted out while running upstairs. I opened the door in a hurry when I stopped in my tracks. A gasp escaped my mouth when I saw her sitting on my bed. My best friend since I could open my eyes, my companion and only person who knew the location of my secret stash, the only person I could ever trust in the whole world. Lily Meirs.
