You’re still mine

I repeat Harry’s words over and over in my mind.

Am I still his?

He walked out on me after I told him that I loved him and that is not okay, no matter what the circumstances.

I was on my lunch break, enjoying the outdoors while I downed a turkey sandwich.

“What’s on your mind?”

My head shot up quickly, my eyes instantly locking with green ones.

“Ed?” I mumbled softly. “What are you doing here?”

He flashed me a polite smile. “I was close by, so I decided to stop by.”

I returned his smile. “Oh. How nice of you.”

“I try.” He chuckled.

He sat down across from me, our knees touching.

He was a little too close for my liking but I didn’t protest.

“What’s going on in your beautiful mind?”

“John Legend? Seriously?” I laughed.

“I was trying to be sweet.” He mumbled, his cheeks flaming.

God, can he get any more adorable?

Fuck.

What am I saying?!

I have a boyfriend!

‘A boyfriend who walked out on you when you told him you loved him! And wasn’t man enough to even tell you goodbye in person!’ My subconscious added.

I mentally rolled my eyes.

“It was cheesy as hell but it was sweet.” I chuckled, taking a swig from my water bottle.

He smiled, making my heart skip a beat. “Good. So umm, are you free tomorrow?”

I chocked on my saliva.

Once I recovered, I looked up at his desperate eyes. “You know I’m with Harry, Ed.”

I looked away, not bearing to meet his disappointed stare.

“I-I understand.” He stammered. “I should go.”

He picked himself up off the ground.

I stood up to, dusting the back of my shorts off with my hand.

“Hey wait-“

He stopped and turned around to face me again, hope in his eyes.

“How about we exchange numbers and plan something to do as friends?” I suggested.

A smile crept on his face and he nodded anxiously. “Okay.”

His charm is what attracted me to him.

But I knew that something was missing.

That spark, that surge of electricity that shot through me every time Harry touched me.
