Epilogue
PAGE’S POV

I know what you spend some nights staring up at your ceiling unable to sleep wondering.

Do Harry and I live happily ever after?

We were just like everyone else—Harry and I. We bought into the same, ridiculous delusion.

It was a warm summer’s day, and I was left home alone with the kids while Harry was at work as an X - Factor judge.

Tyler, now at sixteen’s years old, was at the mall with his friends, and I was sitting on the couch with the twins Darcy and Emma who were only four years old.

“Mummy, its daddy!!” Emma yelled as we watched Harry sit down at the X – Factor desk on the television screen.

“You’re right, baby,” I said and smiled, lightly kissing her cheek. “There’s daddy.”

The house phone rang and I picked it up quickly. “Hello?”

“Hey Page!” Came Niall’s voice through the phone.

“Hi Niall! It’s been a while! How’s California?”

“It’s great! Demi and I just wanted to tell you the good news…”

A wide smile broke out on my face because I knew where this was headed. “Well?”

“We’re expecting!!” Demi exclaimed.

“Oh my god! This is awesome guys! I’m so happy for you both!!”

“I knew you would be!” Niall said.

“I can’t wait to tell Harry when he gets home!” I laughed.

“Alright, I’ve got to go. But we’ll talk soon. Love you. Bye.” He hung up before I even got a chance to reply.

When Harry got home, I told him that I needed to talk to him but the kids kept coming downstairs and prolonging our chat.

Emma came down having decided that she wanted a snack and when she was going to eat it down here with us, I offered her to take it up to her room, and she gave me a look.

“Oh, I get it,” she said. “You want to have sex.”

“What?” Harry said and we all laughed.

“Kids!” he exclaimed.

“Kids,” I agreed.

“I’ve got news,” I told him as poured each of us a glass of wine.

“Uh-oh,” he said. “Please tell me you aren’t pregnant again.”

I smacked his arm, “Harry!”

“Okay, okay,” he said. “What’s the news?”

“Demi’s pregnant.”

I knew how protective Harry was of Niall so I was scared for his reaction.

“It’s his right?”

“Of course it is!” I shook my head. “They’ve been married for almost a year, Harry. Why don’t you trust Demi?”

“Because he called me on the first night of their honeymoon in tears because they had an argument.”

“You know how emotional Niall is,” I sighed.

“I know,” he said finally, taking a sip of wine. “Louis and Eleanor split.”

I looked at him wide-eyed. “When?!”

“Today,” he said.

“Wow,” I said.

They had been together forever.

As far as I knew, Sophia and Liam are still going strong and are in their first year of marriage, and Zayn and Perrie are on their fourth kid. Perrie just keeps popping out babies.

The front door burst open and Tyler walked in.

He reeked of weed or whatever drug he had obviously smoked that night.

“Where have you been?” Harry sternly asked. It surprised me how strict Harry was with the kids.

“Out,” Tyler slurred.

“Oh my god,” Harry said. “Please tell me you aren’t drunk.”

“Why do you care? You aren’t even home half the time!” Tyler yelled.

Harry looked guilty but his expression quickly changed. “Lower your voice, your sisters are sleeping. I am very disappointed in you, we will talk about your punishment tomorrow.”

“How dare you! You’re never home! And mum don’t act like it’s not true! I hear you crying yourself to sleep some nights!”

I closed my eyes and I swear I could feel my heart in my throat.

“Don’t raise your voice at me.” Harry stated, his voice low and even but angry.

“I h-hate you,” was the last thing he managed to say before he passed out.

He had been coming home drunk most nights but I didn’t bother to tell Harry in fear of what he might do.

Harry stormed out of the room and into our bedroom so I was forced to take care of Tyler on my own. I cleaned him up and tucked him in.

When I got to our bedroom, Harry was sitting on the edge of the bed with his head buried in his hands.

He lifted his head and I noticed the bags under his eyes and the redness in them. He was exhausted.

“Do you really cry yourself to sleep at night when I’m not home?” he asked in a whisper.

I couldn’t do anything but nod.

“Oh god,” he muttered. “You know I would never cheat on you right?”

“I know.”

“Come here,” he said.

I walked over to him and he pulled me in his arms.

“I’m so sorry baby.” He murmured.

And then I was crying.

“We’re gonna be okay,” he said softly, kissing my forehead.

“I hope so,” I said. “I really hope.”
