Chapter 3

I cautiously walked down the streets, my eyes glancing at anyone and everything. I didn't want to run into him, it made me even more scared thinking what if I did. Rachael, calm down. But I couldn't, his words were unsettling, cause baby doll, I’m coming for you. I tried to forget about it, my heart still racing with every step I took.

I could see the diner; it was only a block away from me. Relief flooded over me, thank god. I smiled to myself, see Rachael nothing happened! As I walked closer to the diner I noticed a guy and a familiar blonde. Fear washed over me, please don't be them, please don't be them, please don't be them. I was now terrified as I realized it was.

I immediately stopped, I was just across the street, I could go home, I could run home. Trinity would understand, if she knew that this abusive guy threated me. I turned myself around, my steps lighter, I hope he didn't see me or recognize me. It was dark anyway. I tried to persuade myself not to be so paranoid but I freaked out internally when Trinity began yelling my name across the street.

I didn't want to turn around; she was making this a commotion. I would be noticed, should I run? My thoughts were stopped when Trinity yelled, “You’re going the wrong way Rachael! Get over here before I make you!”

I stopped in my tracks, I turned around and was praying that he wasn't there or he wasn't paying attention. But I was unlucky because his eyes pierced at me, a sinister smile plastering on his lips. He waved at me, mockingly. I was frozen, oh my god I was dead, and he was going to kill me.

I began to walk towards the diner, crossing the street as my eyes stared into the floor. I didn't want to look up, I didn't want to see his face. But I had no choice when he began to call my name.

“Rachael.” His voice was loud and I could tell Trinity was confused. I looked up at him he was only a few feet away from me now. “How are you?” His voice was taunting me, he knew I was scared oh boy, did he know. That's why he was smiling more wickedly.

His green eyes pierced at me, I didn't say anything as my eyes continued to connect to this monster. “You know its rude, not to say anything back.”

I looked at Trinity pleading for her to say something, do something. She looked confused and a bit mesmerized by the guy. I immediately rolled my eyes mentally, it wasn't the time!

“I-I…I’m good.” My voice was hoarse and I could tell by the amusement in his eyes that he knew I was lying.

“Great.” He said sarcastically. “Well you remember Hannah right?” I locked eyes with the blonde, she smiled sadly at me. She knew he was intimidating me. What a fucking prick.

I nodded before I looked at Trinity, “well were going to go and eat. Umm…well bye.” I quickly went into the diner not waiting to hear the responses.

When we sat down, Trinity shot me a smirk. “What?”
“He was hot, how do you know him?” Her blonde hair was pulled into a messy bun, her green eyes staring at me. I cringed at the thought of meeting him.

He was about to beat his girlfriend, but I decided to stop it so now I’m basically going to be harassed and possibly murdered by him. I thought about saying, but I just tried to smile, “well I….”

“We’re friends.” A familiar deep voice came; I looked up to see him by himself. A sinister smile playing on his lips, “right Rachael?”

I gave him a scoff, no we were not friends. Trinity looked happy as she stared at the creepy guy. Her eyelashes batting as she studied his physique. He was attractive, I had to admit it. But he also was a creepy abusive person who I didn't want to even be on this earth.

I didn't even reply, Trinity taking the moment to introduce herself. “Well I’m Trinity, but you can calm me Trin.” She smiled seductively at him; it made me want to gag.

“I’m Harry.” He put out his hand, shaking it to her. “So how do you know Rachael?” He took this moment to sit beside me in the booth. Oh fucking great.

“Well she has been my best friend for about five years, since high school I guess.” She smiled at me before saying, “Rachael you never told me you knew this hot guy.” She smiled at Harry as her eyes shined with glitter.

I felt uncomfortable, extremely uncomfortable. I didn't know what to say, I needed to leave. But we haven’t even ordered anything yet, I thought to myself. I coughed slightly, “I-I…I need to go to the restroom.” My head turned to Harry before I said, “excuse me.”

I entered the bathroom, my body going straight to the sink. I turned on the cold faucet, my hands feeling how cold the water felt, goose bumps scattering my arms as I continued to drown them. My brown eyes were fixed on my complexion in the mirror; I frowned disapprovingly at my reflection. I looked horrible; my messy brown hair was barely passing my shoulders, my hair frizzier than usual. I sighed once more before I pulled out my hands from the water, shutting off the faucet, and making my way towards the hand dryer.

Before I even reached to the hand machine, the door swung open revealing a scared looking Hannah. I smiled at her but I instantly stopped smiling at her when I noticed she had a busted lip. She didn't have it, when I saw her fifteen minutes ago. I shuddered at the thought of Harry giving it to her. As I put my hands in the machine I heard her mumble something but I couldn't quite hear it.

“Sorry, what?” I took my hands out of the noisy machine and I saw her frown before she said a sentence that would make my skin crawl.

“He’s going to make you wish that you were dead.”
