Ruining Me~On Hold

//Chapter Four\\

Jane's P.O.V
Not feeling like going home, I head downtown. No one's home anyways. Both my parents own and operate a small airfield outside or town. My mother and father are both licensed private pilots for the rich and famous. Georgia's the new Hollywood "It" spot for making movies, and my parents are cashing in. Carting around celebrities keeps them away from home, but it doesn't bother me. In fact, it's probably for the best. Lately, any time we spend together ends with a fight.

Traffic is light this time of day, and I decide to drive to my favorite bar. Living on the outskirts of a big college town has its advantages. Within twenty minutes, I can be at some of the best bars around. O'Conner's is where most of the young college crowds hang out, and it's my favorite. It's eighteen to enter and twenty-one to drink. My fake ID says I'm both. O'Conner's looks like an Irish pub during the day, but at night, it comes alive with music, packed pool tables, and rocking dance floor.

As I walk in, I head a Mazzy Star song playing in the background. Not many people are here at four o'clock in the afternoon. I've made friends with the daytime bartender, Amy. She's about six feet tall and looks as though she would be right at home on a volleyball court with her California girl looks. Amy's in her late twenties and finishing up her Master's degree in Education. She smiles when she sees me climb on the barstool.

"Hey Jay, how was the dreaded first day of school?"

"Just kill me now. Yes, it was that awful." I cross my arms on the bat and lay my head on top of them. I groan and ask, "Can I get a Sprit?" Amy laughs and fixes my drink.

"Sure, baby girl. So, I haven't seen you around these past couple of weeks. Have you met the new weekend bartender?"

I shake my head while sipping my Sprit, and she continues.

"Oh my God, he's hot. Seriously fuckable. He's about 5'7 with light brown messy hair. He's got amazingly cut arms, and don't even get me started on his stomach. One night he pulled his t-shirt up and he's got a serious six pack. Oh, and his butt? You could bounce a quarter off of it."

I spit out my drink all over the bar in response to her description of his butt.

Laughing, Amy grabs a rag and starts to wipe my mess. "I didn't know that people could actually have eyes that blue, and he's got the coolest tats on his arms. The man is pulling in some serious tips from the college girls. If I wasn't in a relationship right now, I'd be right there with them," she gushed.

Amy is constantly trying to hook me up, and she scouts all the beaus from the buttholes. She knows I'm only looking for one night stands, and she is my safety net. I've learned that most bartenders know what's going down in their bars. Amy stars talking to me again, pulling me from my thoughts.

"I've worked him with a couple of times, and he seems super nice. He just moved to town to work for his family. His brother owns a construction company, and he has a daytime job with him, but with the economy being what is it, he supplements his income with bartending. He's twenty-two, never been married, and no kids. Seems like he's from somewhere in the London originally, and get this, he's single," she says letting the words linger on a happy tune. I start to say how he just doesn't sound like my type, considering his age, when the door behind the bar swings open.

In walks the description of perfection Amy just finished telling me about. He smiles at her and just says, "Hi." He glances around and finally notices me. We stare at each other for a split second. He grins, and nods his head towards me, and turns away to ask Amy something about his work schedule.

Now, I know most guys consider me good looking. I admit that I've never lacked attention in school, but, to be honest, I have never understood what guys see in me. I don't have extraordinarily beautiful hair or a flawless curvy body like Monica's, and my eyes lend to a dull gray opposed to vibrant blue. I'm not saying I'm not cute. I just don't consider myself gorgeous. However, in this moment, I wanted to be noticed.

Haha, thank you! :)
Yes I do write it on word documents, when I paste it on the website it doesn't let me edit it, I'm not sure why it does that :/
Thanks again for telling me this :)

Woman, you cannot delete this story! It's off to a wonderful, wonderful start! Also the link was hilarious! And I love your cover. The only thing I have to comment on is spacing. Do you write your chapters on a word document and then copy and paste onto the site? Because I do that and the spaces don't copy over so I have to do add them in manually. Maybe that's your case? Either way, keep up the great work love :)
