The Wrong Woman

I never went back to work. As far as I knew Felicity had gotten the job she wanted and I wasn’t going to stick around to be Campbell’s flunky. He called and left messages and there was no doubt he did not sound happy.

Maddie called too, but I just told her not to hassle me about it. I was not going back. She kept asking to meet up with me and I wasn’t sure if that was such a hot idea. I was only working one night a week at the bar now, so I was looking for work. I had more important things to think about, but the thought of revenge lurked in the back of my mind.

I knew I had done a lot of shit in the past, but the thought of Louis getting away with everything he had done really burned me inside. When Maddie called me to meet up, I opened my mouth to say no, before I thought of my plan.

“Okay, you wanna come over?” I ventured.

“Why don’t you come over to my house?” Maddie asked.

“Are you serious?” I asked.

“My Dad’s gone away for a couple of days… he won’t be back until Monday.”

“And Felicity?”

“She went with him.”

I felt a pang in my stomach at the thought of Felicity being with him, but I ignored it.

“You mean your Dad has left you at home all alone?”

“I’ve been staying at my Mother’s house. But we can’t meet there…”

“Okay…” I said, still deep in thought. “What time do you want me to be there?”

“Does five o’clock sound okay?” Maddie asked. “We can order pizza or something.”

“Sounds good.” I said, still thinking.

I spent the rest of that Saturday afternoon thinking about what to do. I knew I had to break up with Maddie. Too much had happened. We had both lied to each other and God knew how much her Dad hated me now. I had to break ties and tonight would be the perfect opportunity. No Campbell and no Felicity to interfere, just Maddie and me.

As for my little revenge plot, my plan was to grab Maddie’s phone and search for her conversation with Louis. I would then send it to Campbell for him to read and see Louis for the dodgy bastard he really is and just not the friendly, innocent tutor everyone thought he was.

By five o’clock I was knocking on Maddie’s door and feeling kind of nervous. Maddie answered the door with a big smile and gave me a long hug.

“Come on in.” She said taking me by the hand.

We ended up hanging out in the living room for a while and she was being all nice and sweet. It was hard to go up against her when she looked so cute in her little white shorts and tank top, but I knew I had to have a serious talk with her. She talked about school and how much she missed me.

“I’ve just had a lot on my mind.” I said and she looked at me unconvinced.

“I’ve been calling you nonstop… you didn’t even think to call me?”

“What do you want me to say?” I shrugged, unable to meet her eyes.

Maddie took a couple of steps toward me and then took me by surprise as she straddled me on the couch.

“I’ve missed you.” She said.

I bit my bottom lip as I looked into her pale blue eyes.

“Yeah?” I said.

“Yeah.” She said, nodding her head with a smile. We made out for a while before she took me by the hand and led me up the stairs and into her bedroom where she turned on some music. I stood there watching her, not knowing what to make of it, but from the corner of my eye I spotted her phone on her desk. I could do it… if I played my cards right, I could send those messages to Campbell and Louis would be history.

“Can I have a drink?” I asked and she made a face at me.

“We were just downstairs.” She said. Maddie heaved a sigh before bounding out the room and down the stairs to the kitchen. I grabbed her phone and quickly scrolled through Maddie’s messages before I found Louis’ name.

Come over tonight

Why can’t I be with you right now?

There was a whole trail of messages and I knew I had to hurry before Maddie returned. But then it hit me. If I sent the messages, Louis would not be the only person in trouble. Maddie would be in a lot of shit and I wasn’t sure she deserved it. I was no saint and I had been a bad boyfriend and now I was about to break up with her. I wanted to take down Louis, but I wasn’t sure I wanted to take down Maddie with him. Before I could change my mind, I heard Maddie’s footsteps. I quickly placed the phone back on her desk as Maddie walked in with a couple of beers.

“Beer?” I said surprised. Maddie had never drunk alcohol in front of me, so I wasn’t sure she should start now. She cracked one open for me and pushed the bottle into my hand. Thoughts swirled in my mind as I took a swig, the main one being when was I going to break up with her? It had to be now…

But before I could even say anything, Maddie began to slowly undress.

“Maddie?” I said as she slipped her shorts down past her knees. They were soon flicked away before she pulled her tank top over her head. I watched in fascination as she provocatively pulled down one strap of her bra and then the other.

“What are you doing?” I asked dumbly. I didn’t know what to make of this. We hadn’t been intimate in ages and even then it had been instigated by me. Maddie had always been the hesitant one and now here she was, walking slowly toward me in her pink bra and underwear. She imprisoned my hands in hers as she straddled me on the bed, and then lightly pushed me until I was flat on my back.

“Maddie?” I said but she simply smirked at me. I shook my head as her lips descended onto my chest. “We need to talk.”

“We’ve done enough talking.” Maddie murmured as she trailed her lips over my skin. It felt good, so I relaxed and went with the flow. My hands reached up to hold her hips as she hungrily kissed my lips.

“Fuck me.” She whispered in my ear and the words were enough to stop me in my tracks. Where was the innocent girl who had once said, ““Harry, I want you to make love to me.”?

Far, far away, I thought as I felt myself grow hard at the thought of finally having my way with her. I took her by the arms and gently moved her until my body covered hers and she responded by reaching over to take my shirt off.

“Are you sure?” I asked and she nodded with a smile. My hand reached down to touch her between the legs to find she was wet, so I rubbed her softly. The moment had arrived and I couldn’t believe it was actually happening. I was snapped out of my thoughts by the sound of her soft moan. I dipped down to kiss the top of her breasts as I grew closer and closer to her, our bodies now melding into one. I was so close to having her and I knew I wasn’t going to last. She licked her way to my mouth and I could not wait any longer as I thrust into her.

“Harry.” She cried sounding surprised. She suddenly looked nervous as she glanced at the door. I frowned in response, but I did not stop, plunging into her again as I felt my cock throb inside her.

One moment I was riding on a wave of ecstasy and then next moment I felt a blow to my head. I cried as the pain momentarily blinded me and then I felt someone grab me from the shoulders.

“You bastard.” A voice rasped and as I was pulled away from Maddie, I looked down to see her staring up at me.

“Campbell let him go!” Another voice sounded and I looked over my shoulder to see Office Callum standing by the door.

“You dirty bastard.” Campbell seethed as I struggled to free myself from his grasp.

“Let me go.” I said and he reluctantly shoved me to the side. I regained my balance and quickly began to put my clothes on and I could see Maddie do the same.

“You’re not going to get away with this. We got him good.” Campbell said before turning to Maddie in anger. “What were you thinking? You weren’t supposed to go that far.”

“I’m sorry.” She pouted as she casually tied her hair back.

I looked at the three of them in amazement before making a run for the door. I was stopped by Office Callum who shook his head.

“Oh no you don’t.” He said. “You have a lot to answer for buddy. Statutory rape for one thing…”

“It’s the first time we ever did it.” I said. “She’s legal.”

“As far as I know, you’ve been dating her since she was underage. I don’t believe for one second that this is the first time.” Officer Callum replied calmly. “And I could see the poor girl fighting you off too.”

“She was not.” I said hotly. “Maddie, say something.”

“I didn’t want to do it.” Maddie said softly, not meeting my eyes.

“You weren’t meant to go this far.” Campbell angrily repeated.

“He made me!” She cried.

“What the fuck is going on here?” I demanded but nobody replied. Office Callum took me by the arm and led me to the door.

“You’re going to take a ride with me down to the police station.” He said. “And if you don’t cooperate, you might want to reconsider.”

“That’s right.” Campbell’s lips curled into a smile. “Especially with the drugs you’ve got stashed in your car.”

“What drugs?” I said. “You’re the drug dealer, not me!”

“Tsk tsk.” Office Callum mocked me. “You’d better not make any wild accusations, especially with all the shit we have on you.”

“Maddie!” I cried as they marched me down the stairs. “Don’t let them do this to me.”

“Sorry Harry.” She said forlornly, though her face was devoid of emotion. “Maybe next time you won’t hurt me.”

It didn’t take much for the charges to stick, and as I sit in my jail cell, counting down the days to my release, I have all the time in the world to think. And that’s all I do. I think about Felicity and what happened to her. She must have accepted the job and toed the line as Campbell’s girlfriend. Do whatever he says and you will be okay.

Louis must be thrilled at having Maddie all to himself, now that I’m out of the picture. If only I had sent those fucking messages to Campbell, maybe it would be him sitting here, instead of me.

And as for Maddie… well, I always thought Felicity had been the wrong woman to get tangled up with but I suppose now I have been proven wrong…
