You and I (Niall Horan Fanfiction)

Connie's POV

After the concert ended, I was waiting backstage for Niall. He came backstage and smiled at me. I smiled right back at him. I walked towards him and gave him the biggest hug. After I let go, I said,

"Why do you always do something that takes me by surprise?" I asked as I laughed.

"Well, I love seeing your reaction and seeing the result of you smiling makes me feel like I have accomplished everything I could to make you happy." He said.

I looked at him and smiled. I leaned in to give him a peck.

"What? No longer kiss? I surprised you with something big today!" Niall said in a jokingly way.

"You didn't appreciate it? Okay, fine." I said.

I let go of him and walked the other way.

"No I'm sorry!" Niall said as he laughed.

I laughed and he grabbed my hand. In the dressing room, Niall asked if I wanted to go out to eat to spend some time together. Instead of going back to the hotel, Niall and I wanted to find a place to eat in LA. Paul also came with us because LA is full of celebrities. And when there are a lot of celebrities, there are a lot of paparazzi's.

It was pretty dark right now considering it was 8 p.m. It didn't take that long for paparazzi's to find us and follow us the whole way to the restaurant we wanted to go to. However, when we got to the restaurant, I was so relieved. The paparazzi's couldn't come in, which definitely gave us some space.

We sat down and a waiter brought us our menus. We looked at all the food choices.

"I'm so glad the paparazzi's can't come in. They're so annoying." Niall said.

"It's fine Niall. They're not bothering us now." I said as I reached for his hand.

He smiled.

We ordered our food and when it came, we immediately started digging in. Did I mention that we both love food?

At the same time, we were having small talks here and there talking about really the most randomness things. It feels great to have someone you can talk to anything about. Although we are dating, he is also my best friend.

When the bill came, we both looked at each other. We both went to grab for the bill. At first, I snatched it but Niall was too strong for me that he snatched the bill right from my hand. I guess I'm not strong enough.

When we left the restaurant, the paparazzi's actually waited for us outside. Don't they want to do something else instead of wait for us? I looked at Niall and I could tell he was annoyed. I guess it's kind of hard to get use to this when you have millions of camera shoved towards your face.

Niall and I wanted to go to Menchies to get some frozen yogurt. Since it wasn't that far from the restaurant, we decided to walk. While I was walking, a paparazzi had a camera that was really close to my face.

Paul tried push to him away, but he kept coming closer.

All of a sudden, the paparazzi swings his camera around really hard and accidentally smacked it on my cheek.

I was in pain, I started to tear up. When that incident occurred, Niall instantly reacted. He started charging at the guy, wanting to punch him. Paul held him back. He became so angry that he started yelling at him.

"WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? HOW COULD YOU DO THAT?! DON'T EVER COME CLOSE TO HER! OR YOU'RE DEAD!"

Meanwhile, I was still in pain and there were a lot of paparazzi's at the scene taking pictures. Paul signaled for a taxi as one stopped. Niall carried me into the taxi as fast he could. I started to feel so overwhelmed with the amount of people taking pictures as well.

All three of us went into the taxi as it drove away.

Niall turned to me.

"Connie, are you okay? do you want to go to the hospital? how bad is it hurting?" He questioned.

"It's okay, Niall. I think I just need some ice." I said as I placed my hand on my cheek.

"Those paparazzi were absolutely ridiculous. I'm so sorry, I don't want to put you through that chaos again." He said with a concerned voice.

"Niall, it's okay. I'm just happy that you didn't punch him." I said.

"I would've if Paul didn't hold me back. I would've never let them get away with something like that. Especially, hurting you and that would mean losing someone who means so much to me." He said.

I smiled and leaned to give him a kiss. Afterwards, I laid down on his shoulders.

When we got back to the hotel, the boys and the girls were wondering what happened.

"Connie! Are you okay? Why is your face bruised?!" Bernice asked.

Everyone looked concerned.

"Stupid paparazzi smacked their camera on her face." Niall said as he turned really red.

"Let's get some ice for that right now." Eleanor said as she took me to the kitchen.

We were all in the kitchen as of right now.

"Man, why can't they just leave us alone?" Louis questioned. He seemed extremely angry about the situation.

"Why can't they get a proper job?" Liam asked.

"It's fine guys, it could've been worse. And it's just a bruise." I said.

Niall was leaning on the kitchen counter looking down at the floor. He was still really angry about the whole situation.

Afterwards, everyone had gone back to their hotel room. Niall and I shared a hotel room. He was outside of the balcony. I wanted to see if he was alright, so I went outside as well. I wrapped my arms around him.

"Don't be upset. It's fine and I'm fine." I said.

"I just don't want to put you through that kind of danger again." He said as he seemed like he was still deep in thought.

He kissed my forehead and went back into the hotel room.

I stood there. I don't get it. I was wondering why he was still angry about the situation.
