You and I (Niall Horan Fanfiction)
I finally got home and was really tired from shopping. I went to the kitchen to see if I could find some food. My phone started to vibrate and It was Evan who texted me.
Hey Connie, want to hang out later in the evening? Maybe dinner?
I replied and told him I would love to go to dinner. I had about 2 hours of free time, that I just went on my laptop and checked Twitter. There were so many fans questioning if we broke up. A handful of them were sending hate messages to me because they think I left Niall for Evan. When in reality, Evan and I are just friends.
My parents and my sister went to my grandparents' house and told me to rest for the day, since I just came back from New York.
When it was 5:30 p.m., I decided to go upstairs to get ready. Although it was cold, I still wanted to wear something cute because it was New Years! I put on a maroon skirt, with a black tank, a cream cardigan and a black infinity scarf around my neck. Also, I wore some tights to keep myself a bit warmer.
At 6, someone knocked on the door and I went downstairs to get it. Evan was dressed really casual. He had khakis on, a black t-shirt with a navy blue cardigan and a jacket on top.
"I know you're trying to impress me, but I still think I look better." Evan said in a joking way.
"Haha, very funny. Where are we going to eat dinner?" I asked.
"Well, we are going now, so you'll find it soon!" He said.
We walked to his car. The ride was about 10 minutes long and when I got out of the car, we were at this really fancy restaurant.
When we went in, the restaurant was packed with people.
"Yay! I'm so excited, we get to eat fancy food!" I said.
Evan laughed. "You definitely haven't changed at all and yes we are!"
The waitress escorted us to our table and we both sat down. I was looking at the menu and of course, I would order pasta and Evan ordered a steak.
"How are things with you and Niall?" He asked.
"Still not that good, he has been calling and texting me and I feel bad for not replying." I said.
"Give it some time and when you're ready to talk to him." He said.
"I still can't believe he said those things to me. I understand he wasn't in a stable state of mind, but they still hurt since it brings back the past." I said.
Evan put his hand on mine and gave it a squeeze for reassurance. I thought it was a bit weird, yet comforting to know he's there for me.
When our food came, we began eating away! We just had random conversations and bringing up memories from the past.
It was a great time and it really got my mind off of things that I was dealing with Niall.
After we finished eating, we got back into the car. Evan was going to drive me back home. I was looking out the window and I saw people skating.
"Hey look, they are skating! I would love to try to skate one day." I said.
"Why not now?" Evan said as he turned the car to direction of the skating rink.
I looked at him. "Really?"
"Yeah, it'll be fun!" He said.
I smiled back at him.
When we got out of the car, we went to the area where we went skates. It was pretty inexpensive and we had 2 hours, which was more than enough time. It was my first time, so I was pretty nervous and Evan could tell as well.
When I got onto the ice, I didn't want to let go of the edge of the rink.
"Here, I'll help you." He said.
He grabbed both of my hands and helped me.
"You're doing great!" He said.
"Because you're helping me!" I said as I laughed.
Afterwards, I sort of got the hang of it.
"Wow, I'm such a pro." I said in a sarcastic tone as I fell to the ground. I started to laugh.
Evan laughed as well.
"Hey! Just because I laughed at myself, doesn't mean you should laugh at me too!" I said as I laughed again.
He helped me up. After 2 hours of skating, we finally gave back the skates. We decided to take a walk around the area. There was a lot of snow, so I decided to grab some snow and I threw it right at Evan.
"So that's how you want to play it?" He said.
He threw snow right at me and it was so cold! We started to throw snow at each other. It was so funny.
I was throwing snow at Evan, when I accidentally tripped and almost fell. Evan got me before I fell to the ground. I was slightly embarrassed.
As of that moment, It was like those kind of things you see in movies, where the girl almost falls and they both make eye contact.
Evan was leaning towards my face and was about to kiss me. I was doing the same until I backed away.
"No, I still like Niall. Although we are having problems with our relationship, it's not right." I said.
"Connie, I'm in love with you. I have been for a really long time. We've been best friends for three years. I know we had a problem before, and I'm sorry about what happened. I just want you to give me a chance. I care a lot about you and I'll always be there for you."
I was in shocked. I didn't know he felt that way. That means he liked me when I liked him before, but he never told me.
"I have to go..." I said as I walked back to the skating area. Evan sighed and looked down to the ground.
I pulled out my phone and called Kristen asking if she could pick me up.
What am I going to do...?
Niall or Evan?
Note: I finally updated and I'm so sorry I haven't updated in a long time. You guys probably might have to read some previous chapters to remember what happened haha!
