You and I (Niall Horan Fanfiction)

Bernice's POV

I woke up to a sleepy Harry. He looked so cute when he was sleeping. I decided to get ready, so I had to go back to my room. I opened my hotel room and it smelled disgusting. Like as if someone vomited. I look at the bed and Niall was there. Where was Connie? I went towards him and shook his shoulder.

"Niall, where's Connie?" I asked.

Niall was half awake when I woke him up. I looked at the table and there were two notes. One was for me and one for Niall.

Connie wrote to me:

I left early at 5 a.m. in the morning to catch a flight back home. I'll explain later when you come back. Have fun.

Why did Connie leave?! I walked towards Niall who fell asleep.

Niall's POV

"Niall! Why did Connie leave? What happened?!" Bernice asked.

I stood up as quickly as possible.

"WHAT?! What happened? Why am I here? And did you say Connie left?" I said.

"Yeah, and she left a note for the both of us." Bernice said.

I looked at Bernice and then walked towards the table to find my note.

Connie wrote to Niall:

You probably don't even know what's happening right now. I'm sorry if you feel like I'm a difficult person to handle due to my OCD and my depression. In no way, I was only dating you to get over Evan. You were the only person I loved.

What is she saying? Did I say something wrong while I was drunk? I slammed the table really hard with my hand.

"I'm going to go to the airport to stop her from leaving." I said as I was about to put on my coat.

"Niall, wait! I think you should give her some time. It's 11 a.m. now, she left by now." Bernice said.

I squeezed his hand into a fist and realized he couldn't do anything. I walked out the door and decided to go to the boys' hotel room. I came in and everyone knew I was angry.

"Niall, what's wrong?" Zayn asked.

"Connie left and it's all my fault." I said as I buried my head in my hands.

"What happened?" Liam asked.

I showed them the note and they all had an idea why she left. They knew I was really drunk, but didn't expect me to say these kind of things to her.

"Give her some time Niall." Louis said.

Connie's POV

I got off the plane and waited for a taxi to drive me home. When a taxi came, I put my suitcase in the back and jumped into the taxi.

Since it was New Years' Eve, everyone in my family was home. Great, now they are going to question why I came back early. The taxi reached my house and I knocked on the door.

"Connie, I thought you were in New York?" My mom said.

I looked at my mom and tears came down my face. She knew what was wrong. She leaned in to give me a hug. I went into the living room and I saw my dad and sister.

I told my mom what happened and she was trying to make me feel a bit better.

I went upstairs after to unpack my suitcase. My phone kept ringing due to texts and calls. I knew they were from Niall and I wasn't going to answer any of them.

All of a sudden, someone knocked on my door.

"Connie, Evan is on the phone." My sister, Crystal said.

I went to answer the phone. "Hello?" I said.

"Hey Connie! Haven't spoke in a long time. I tried calling you on your cell but no one was answering." He said.

"Oh, sorry Evan." I said but I think he could tell I have been crying.

"Have you been crying? What's wrong?" He asked.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine. I haven't talked to you in a long time. Want to grab some dinner?" I asked.

"Sure, I'll be over in 15 minutes." He said.

We both hung up the phone.

In 15 minutes, Evan arrived.

"Hey Connie." He said as he hugged me.

"Hey Evan." I said.

"Happy New Years' Eve! Great that I can spend it with you." He said.

I laughed. "Happy New Years' Eve to you too!" Same here, we could countdown today as well." I said.

We both left my house and we hopped into Evan's car. He decided that we go to an Italian restaurant because he knew I loved eating Italian food. When we got there, we got our tables and ordered food.

"So, Connie how have things been? I haven't seen you the whole winter break." He said.

"Uhm, I've been okay." I said in a soft voice.

"On the phone, you didn't see fine. What happened? You can tell me." Evan said in a concerned voice.

I told him about everything that happened with Niall being drunk and the things he said. I could tell he was getting angry.

"I'm sorry about what happened Connie." He said as he held my hand.

I felt a little awkward that he did that, but he was just trying to comfort me.

"Let's talk about other things to try to get your mind off of the situation." He said.

Our food came as well and we just talked about random things. He was a really funny guy from what I can remember. We talked about all the old memories we had and I was laughing so hard.

"Hey, after dinner, do you want to go to this restaurant where you can play board games as well?" He asked.

"Sure, sounds like fun!" I said.

When we finished our food, we left to to that restaurant. When we got there, we both ordered these bubble tea drinks. We decided that we were going to play Monopoly as well.

It was such a fun night with Evan.

"Ha! You landed on my property! Pay up." He said.

"Wow! No fair! I think this game is rigged!" I said as I laughed.

We played a bit more.

"Haha! You got the "Go to Jail" card which means go jail!" I said as I laughed.

Evan crossed his arms like a little kid as a joke. I laughed so hard. I didn't even know we were playing for a couple of hours until the person on the news on the television said that there was only 30 seconds to a New Year!

Everyone in the restaurant was counting down including us.

"10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 HAPPY NEW YEARS!" Everyone screamed. Everyone in the room clapped.

"Happy New Years Evan!" I said as I went to give him a hug.

"Happy New Years to you too! I'm glad you had a great time today." Evan said.

I smiled at him and we continued our Monopoly game.

After an hour of playing, I started to yawn.

"Come on, let's get you home. You seem tired. By the way, the bubble tea drinks are on me." He said.

"Thank you so much Evan." I said.

We hopped into his car. When we got to my house, Evan walked me to my doorstep.

"Thank you for helping my get my mind off of everything for a bit." I said.

"I rather see you happy than sad." Evan said.

All of sudden, Evan leaned in to kiss my cheek.

I smiled a bit.

"Happy New Years Connie." Evan said as he walked back towards his car.
