Bother. (26th Chapter)

Evelyn's POV:

“(I grin politely, standing in front of the guests) I hope I am not causing any bother. I just wanted to greet you all, personally.” They all nod at me with a kind smile, as I take a seat beside Harry’s. We are all seated on a circular table, which is inches away from the pool. Harry gives me a look, noticing how nervous I am.
“(His voice breaks the silence) If you haven’t got the chance to meet her, this is Evelyn. (He then looks at me) Evelyn, I’m sure you know Louis and his cousin Lilly. (I nod smiling at them. Harry points to the unfamiliar faces) That’s Zayn, Niall, Regina, and Summer. (He then notices that he forgotten someone) Oh, and that’s Liam.” Liam and the rest share a little laugh, before he speaks: “I’ve met Evelyn, before.”
Harry furrows his eyebrows in curiosity, since he clearly doesn’t remember the two of us being acquainted. I mentally slap myself from the unthinkable, of course Harry doesn’t know; he was out when Liam showed up. “How do you know, Evelyn mate?” He asks, but Liam thankfully stays silent so I could answer instead. “Liam came over, when you were out one day. So I had to welcome him, for your sake.” Harry looks at me, and then nods in a relaxed format.
“(She snickers a cunning smile) So, how come you’re married to Harry’s father; if you’re as young as us all?” I shift in my seat awkwardly, glancing at the girl who I think is named Regina. The blonde- haired man, Niall, notices how disturbing Regina’s question was, so he decided to speak:“Ugh, Regina will you give your detective role a rest? (He turns his face to smile at me) We are all here to have some fun, aren’t we?”
The rest mumble a ‘yes’, but Regina didn’t seem to speak afterwards. “Evelyn would you like a drink?” I nod at the guy with hazel eyes. “Yes, please um… Zayn am I right?” He bobs his head with smile, standing up from his seat to collect a drink from the minibar stall. Everyone else finds a partner to talk to, while I keep my silence hovering my presence.“(He whispers, while leaning to my ear) What’s wrong, babe? Are you well?”
I look at Harry, nodding slowly. I really feel like I am unwanted right now, clearly the three girls are already gossiping about me negatively. I decide to unzip my leather jacket (http://www.polyvore.com/black_yellow/set?id=128559096&lid=3755600), and slide it off since the weather got warmer. Harry’s eyes notice my movement, while they scan my bare arms passionately. I roll my eyes playfully, as we both chuckle at our secret conversation.
“I like your top, Evelyn.” The girl with brown waves comments, which makes me smile at her. “Thank you, Summer. Its an original Gucci from this year’s collection.” Instantly, a sarcastic scoff is darted at me:“Of course it is. Why would you be wearing anything but expensive designs? You’re Desmond’s wife.” Regina’s words were clearly framed as an insult, forcing me to stand up from my seat immediately; grabbing my jacket and purse.
“(I lower my head to the ground) It was pleasant meeting all of you. Excuse me, I don’t feel alright at the moment. I will be heading inside to rest. Have a good night.” Before anyone gets a chance to comment on my choice, I begin walking back to the inside. Its not only Regina’s words, its everyone else that made me snap out of the gathering.
I felt like I was being blamed and tortured for being married to Desmond. Its like everybody’s eyes were stabbing me for that reason. But I am the one responsible for putting myself in this situation; it was my choice to get married to a man of the age of my grandfather.
