I sighed and looked up at my sister checking her appearance in front of my mirror for the sixth time in a row.

“Oh my gosh Nancy you look great stop doing that”!

She shoots me a confused look and says

“Doing What”?

I roll my eyes and say

“The whole have to look perfect looking thing perfect in front of the mirror thing”

“Well I do need to look perfect for Zayn. You know so he could find me attractive”

“If he didn’t he wouldn’t be in love with you”

“Yeah but you won’t understand until you get a boyfriend”

Before I could respond to that we both hear the doorbell downstairs before either of us can move we hear our sister Emilse run downstairs to answer the door. As I get up to go downstairs
Nancy says

“Tell him I’m almost done getting ready kay”?

“Sure thing”

As I’m speed walking down stairs I see Nancy’s boyfriend Zayn sitting at the end of the couch hands in his leather jacket talking to Emilse he sees me and smiles

“Hey kiddo”

“Hey Zayn um Nancy’s almost done getting ready she’ll be down in a few minutes”

“Alright thanks for the heads up, So Emilse why so dressed up”
She looks down at her outfit then back up at Zayn.

“Going out with some friends to catch a movie”

He nods his head and looks over at me with the same smile he gave me when he saw me come down the stairs.

“Do you have a boyfriend yet”?

I shake my head no and say sarcastically.

“Nope living the single life staying home on Friday nights and having dinner at 4pm and going to sleep at 7pm”

We all laugh at my stupid remark.

“Your 16 do they not let you? Or no boys in your mind”

When he said that Niall popped into my mind but then faded when I remembered were only friends.

“What about that boy I’m seeing you with the one with the blonde-brown spiking hair”?

“You mean Justin”

“Yeah Justin-“

Before he can finish his sentence I and Emilse turn our heads to see why he looks so blown away. He looks breathless as he watches my sister Nancy come down the stairs Nancy breaks the silence by saying.

“Well what do you think”

“You look……Stunning”

Nancy blushes and smiles at the ground. Zayn takes her hand and they walk out the door together Nancy shouts before she goes out the door and disappears.

“Don’t wait up and money’s on the table for pizza”!

Emilse looks down at her phone and says

“Daniel is outside are you going to be okay home alone “

“I’m used to it”

“You can have a friend over if you want”

“Yeah thanks”

We hear a car horn for the second time.

“Okay gotta go bye princess”!

She rushes out the door then I collapse on the couch thinking of who to invite.
Then I think my best friend Julia!
I call up Julia she said she’d be right over. Then I call and order a pizza.
Julia doesn’t even knock she’ll just walk in when did she went behind me and covered my eyes making me scream and jump.
Then I hear a familiar laugh.
I turn around to see Julia on the floor from laughing to much and small dog Baby walks over and starts to lick her face.

“C’mon Julia it stopped being funny”

she finally gets up and gives me a half hug then says

“Sorry I didn’t think you would react like that”

“It’s alright I just thought you were a crazed killer or a rapist or I don’t know something like that”

Julia scoffs and turns on the TV looking for a good movie to watch when the pizza gets here we eat and watch re-runs of Chowder.

"So home alone again I assume"

"Yep parents on a business trip they left yesterday. Emilse out with friends and Nancy's on a date with Zayn"

"Yeah she seemed a little paranoid before she left I like she's going to be out really late again"

"It's fine what's the worst that could happen"

The next morning I expect to see Nancy in here bedroom passed out on her bed but she wasn't there. or the next day or the day after then not even a wake later after my parents came back from thier trip it's like she vanished and left us all behind.
