Nine Days

Chapter 3

I silently mime ‘fuck’. I touch my head and fall to the ground. I slowly go in and out of consciousness. I hear someone yell my name. My eyes are closed. I feel the presence of someone next to me, trying to get my attention.

I’m out.

I hear another voice calling my name it sounds like my mom.

I’m out.

I feel someone lifting me up, the person’s scent is intoxicating.

I’m out.

I feel a car moving, I try to open my eyes but I can’t. I’m getting scared because I can’t move anything. I can’t open my eyes, my arms won’t lift up and my legs won’t kick. I feel so hopeless.

I’m out.

I wake up. Where am I?

I had the strangest dream. I touch my head and mime ‘Fuck’, my head hurts like hell. I slowly lift my left hand and move it down my scalp to my neck, I feel something… its stiches? What the heck?

I open my eyes to find that I’m lying in a hospital bed in the hospital. What happened? I see a hand on my right hand, I’m puzzled by who it might be. My eyes move up the persons arm to his head. His head is down, away from my line of sight. I see the curls and instantly know its Harry. What is he even doing here? Yeah he stared at me a couple of times but still, that doesn’t give him the right to…

I’m kicked out of my previous thoughts; he looks so peaceful and gorgeous. Oh shit he is walking up, uhmmm pretend you’re asleep. I close my eyes again and turn my head away from his before he can notice that I’m actually awake.

He leans in closer to me; he kisses my cheek and then my forehead. He whispers into my ear. “I know you probably can’t hear me, but some people say when you’re in a coma you can hear the people around you. I’ve been sitting in a chair next to your bed for the past nine days and I’m willing to try anything to get you back.” He’s crying, I can’t believe what I just heard, but most of all I can’t believe he is… “I love you”

What?

I feel his body move away from mine, I hear the chair crack beside my hospital bed and I’m taken aback from what just happened. I have so many questions rushing through my mind, like: Why is he even here?, Why does he love me?, And why was he crying? I have never seen or heard him cry before.
