Something Stronger Than Love

ZAYN'S POV

I woke up, smelling the smokey fire and salty sea. I picked myself off the floor and walked out of the shelter. The group was already awake.

Louis, Niall, Liam, Kyle, Harry, and Mike were all around the fire, while Gemma, Mel, Violet, Paige, Alexis, Jenna, Perrie, El, and Dani were messing around in the sand. Toni was nowhere to be found.

"Anyone see Toni?" I asked, entering the area.

All heads were shook, she hadn't been seen leaving. "Anyone wanna help me search?"

Kyle, Harry, and Louis all threw their hands up. Ugh, Kyle. I can't be rude, but I don't like him. Then Louis. He loves Toni, but has a girlfriend. Harry, Toni's best friend.

"Okay, Kyle, Harry, search the jungle. Louis and I will search the beach. Meet back here if you don't see her in a half hour." I created our plan.

We turned amd headed in different directions, hoping to find Toni, the girl I can't let go.

We had walked along the sand for awhile, complete silence between us. Louis said nothing, but I had to stop the awkwardness.

"So, how's it going?"

"Good... just miss Toni, that's all." He grimaced.

Ah, the one thing I tried to avert.

"So... what's going on between you and her?"

He looked a little annoyed, knowing we were back on this subject, "Nothing. I'm with El, and Toni will never change that." He then mumbled, "Even though she was my love for years, then gone, then found."

Such an idiot. I obviously could hear him.

We looked around the area we were in, seeing nothing. We turned and headed back to the group.

HARRY'S POV

Since we went searching for Toni, no conversation was made between Kyle and I. Neither dared to speak, it would be too awkward.

I know something no one else knows. Kyle likes Toni, more than a friend. He even asked me at one point for permission to ask her on a date.

I also know that Louis still feels for Toni. And a lot. Sometimes I think he's just with Eleanor to make her jealous now. Before, I think El was just a rebound from Toni. Like just for Louis to stop thinking about her, but he never did.

And another thing I know is that Zayn felt for her since they broke up. And I mean every single second.

But one thing I don't get is why Toni has been acting so weird. Something happened, and I'm determined to find out.

The silence continued as we realized that she wasn't here, and we turned around, walking back to the camp, as we heard a scream. Then the walking became running.

TONI'S POV (FUCKING finally!!! You don't know how long I've waited to use her again!)

I just... No words can describe it. I want to tell someone, but I can't.

It scares me, to the point that I don't want to talk anymore, or even make eye contact. I'm so scared, so sad. I don't know what to think.

No one in the world knows what this feels like... to have been without something you held so close for so long, and not even realize it. It makes you feel like shit, you thought you'd never survive without it, but you did, and now that you realize it was gone, you can't live without it anymore.

That's why I made Harry bring me back. I left it here, the one thing I always had with me, always. It never left my purse, until that one night here. And now, I haven't found them since.

I was walking through the forest, looking at everything I once knew. The pond, the tree I found 'Melissa' in, the tree I hid in when I saw Zayn and I were stuck on an island together.

So much has changed on this island. The first day here, it was a reunion, sad for me, seeing Zayn. But now, I see him all the time, and I couldn't be happier. Well... I could...

When he kissed when I woke up, I didn't even know it was him, and kissed back. But now, realizing who it was, I regret it. I mean, Zayn... I love him to death. He's the best guy I've ever been with, but there's someone else. And I couldn't be with Zayn while I had feelings for another.

Life sucks right now. Louis might still have feelings for me, Niall doesn't talk to me, Liam isn't even there anymore, and Zayn... and Harry... What is Harry to me? Why is he so quiet?

So many questions in my life, unanswered. Nothing could answer them, nothing.

I sighed, returning to the empty shelter, while everyone was outside. I let the door open, leaving air in.

I sat down and ate a banana, just casually chilling with my thoughts, when I heard a scream.

I ran out to the beach as Harry and Kyle were also arriving, and everyone else was gathered around the shore of the ocean. I couldn't see what was going on, it sucks to be short.

I pushed my way into the crowd far enough to see what happened, and the sight before me was overwhelming. It was there, the reason we all came back. The shark, was dead, on shore.

"Oh thank god, I thought you got bit!" Zayn hugged Perrie, who must've been the one to scream.

I won't lie, it hurt a little when he hugged her. Okay... it hurt a lot. I guess I haven't let go of him yet. But at the same time, I feel something for someone else. Ugh, so confusing.

"Okay, now we just need to find Toni, and we can get going." Harry sighed, slumping onto the sand.

Wait, they're looking for me? "I'm right here, Stylies." I smiled.

Everyone slowly turned to me, and screamed. I was only gone for an hour. Last time, Louis and I would disappear for hours .

"Okay, then let's get off this god forsaken island." Eleanor said, walking toward the shelter.

"I can't." I mumbled. She, and everyone turned to me again, questioning.

"I left something here three years ago, and I haven't found it. And I'm not leaving until I do."

"What did you leave here?" Harry asked, walking over to me.

"I can't say. It's too special. But you saw them before."

He raised one of his eyebrow, oblivious to the hints. I groaned, this ragtag group is just a bunch of idiots.

"Remember that one morning we stayed awake?" He shook his curls, "Then you'll have to wait to see."

I started walking in the direction of the forest, but Kyle grabbed my arm. "I'm going with you."

I nodded, a little company won't hurt.

The only reason any of us are in this situation is because I got us here, and I'm not leaving without my reason.
