Earlier that day…

Snoring coming from the beautiful man sitting next to me is what woke me up bright and early. I leaned over to check the time. Seven in the morning, great. Who doesn’t love being woken up at the crack of dawn on the day they don’t have school, or work, and finally have the opportunity to sit and do the best thing ever, nothing. I felt Cody stir next to me, and could tell he was beginning to wake up as well. I showered his face in kisses to hurry the process so he could get up and make me breakfast because I was really fucking hungry. He throws his arm around my waist, and lifted his head from the pillow; a lazy smirk spread across his face.

“I could get used to being woken up like this,” he said.

I smiled at him and asked him the question I’d been pondering from the time I woke up. “Cody can you make me breakfast please?” I asked trying to give my best puppy dog face.

“Course, babe,” he said getting up.

I quickly reached up and grabbed his hand, tugging him back unto the bed, before pulling him into a hug and kissing his cheek. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

“You’re welcome,” he chuckled before going to the kitchen to make us food.

After about thirty minutes Cody called my name from the kitchen, and I quickly got up and speed walked to the kitchen. I sat at the table, and Cody set a plate in front of me before setting a plate in front of the chair across from me, then taking a seat himself. We ate, light conversation, and playful taunting taking place, and migrated to the living room afterwards.

Cody was channel surfing with his head in my lap, and his feet sprawled out on the other end of the couch. Meanwhile, I was browsing my phone aimlessly.

“I’m going to dinner with Niall tonight by the way,” I said nonchalantly.

“Of course you are,” he said annoyed, standing up, and walking to the kitchen.

“Is there a problem?” I asked. What was wrong with him?

“You’re always with Niall. Going to the movies with Niall, texting Niall. It’s always Niall, Niall, Niall. Bet you wish he was your boyfriend, huh?”

I got up and followed him into the kitchen. “Okay, Cody what the fuck is your problem? Niall and I are friends. You know what friends do? They hang out and text each other. It’s the normal thing to do!” I said, raising my voice slightly.

“You know it’s true Katerina. I’ve done nothing but care for you and treat you well, and all you care about is this Niall kid. Katerina I love you way too much, and if these relationship ends, I don’t think I’ll be the same. I’ve never fallen in love with someone so quick, and honestly it’s quite scary. I’m scared that I’ve loved you so much that I won’t be able to love anyone again.” He turned around, his eyes red and puffy, showing that he’d been crying. He was looking at me, expecting me to say something, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t form any words; I couldn’t even move. “I need some air,” he said before rushing past me.

Finally, I was able to move my feet, and I ran after him, calling his name. I grabbed his wrist as he was picking up his keys. “Katerina I need to get some air, I’m going for a drive, I’ll be back later.”

“Before you go, I just want you to know that I love you too. I love you so much, and I want you to know that you’re not the only one scared, but the good thing is that we can travel down this dark, frightening path together. You don’t have to do it alone.”

He brought me into his chest wrapping his arms around my waist, as I did the same to him. He pressed his lips to my forehead, before releasing me, and walking out the door.
