I Want.
Chapter 1.
I couldn't believe I was lying next to the man I supposedly loved. Movies and books didn't describe it this way. I mean, they made it sound so complex but to me it seemed so simple.
I didn't know if it was real love. I just couldn't tell. They go on about how you get butterflies, how you would take a bullet for them, how they change you completely. I didn't think felt that way at least. But I still said yes to David when he asked me to marry him. So I guess I loved him.
David was awake as he rolled over and got up. He saw I wasn't sleeping so he spoke, "Ash, I'm going to go to work now." It sounded as though he expected an answer so I just nodded as he bent down and kissed me before he walked out.
When I heard the door close, I got out of bed and walked into the kitchen to make breakfast. Ellen Show was on tv so I sat down on the couch and watched that. "And latest news for all you directioners on the Take Me Home Tour!" And change channel. Honestly could not be bothered with all that boy band, teenage shit this morning.
David and I had just moved to London together, not to far from his family. He had been lucky enough to get a job as head chef at Rouchè, a restaurant down the road. His next step was to buy a restaurant of his own.
I had been searching and searching but there wasn't much work for photographers that I was interested in. I'd been offered a few jobs, wedding photography, even paparazzi. I was avoiding weddings completely and I didn't feel right invading celebrities privacy.
I didn't have much to do today so I thought I would pop down to see David. I quickly got changed and decided to walk down there.
David was very busy but still happy to see me at least. "Sleeping beauty is awake," he joked. I poked my tongue at him, "Haha your hilarious" I said with sarcasm. He just laughed and gave me a kiss.
I hung around the restaurant for lunch, while David was on the phone. He came down at sat with me, I looked at him suspiciously. Something was going on.
"Ash, I've kind of been offered this huge opportunity." I raised my eyebrows, "what kind of opportunity?" He paused, obviously uncomfortable with what he was about to say.
"Ever heard of Master Chef Professionals? Well I've been offered to be on the show and if I win it means I can open up a restaurant! But there's one issue, which is the season goes for 6 months.."
I was obviously surprised because he started talking all at once, as though he thought it was better to get it done and over with. Slowly I forced a smile, "David! That's amazing! You should do it!" He looked up in surprise, "are you sure? Because it would mean putting off the wedding for a while longer."
That was when I knew I definitely needed him to do this. "Yes, it's your dream and you may as well go for it." He smiled, "have I ever told you how much I love you?" I paused uneasy, "many times."
