Liam's POV

One hour and fourty five fucking minutes.

That's how long it's been since Katie woke up and started banging on her bedroom door. She hasn't stopped yelling the whole time either.

"SOMEBODY HELP!" Her small voice let out another attempted yell and I sighed and rubbed my hands over my face.

"Dude shut that kid up!!!" Zayn groaned and covered his ears while Harry sat next to me and punched me in the arm.

I snapped my head in his direction and he pointed to the door leading to Katie's room.

The door to Katie's room was in the lounge which is why everyone was getting pissed off that she wouldn't shut up. The room was designed to be a office but I turned it into Katie's room because it was the only door that locked from the outside and not the inside unlike all the actual bedrooms in this house.

"She's just scared. She will fall asleep soon just leave her." They all rolled their eyes at me and turned the T.V down since we couldn't hear it over Katie anyway.

"Mate she slept half the plane ride then you drugged her and she slept for another ten hours! I highly doubt she will fall asleep again after two hours." Louis talked from across the lounge room while keeping his eyes on Katie's door. Out of everyone he seemed the least fazed by Katie's yelling.

"Well what do you suppose I fucking do?" I snapped.

"Just fucking threaten her to shut up! She's giving me a headache!" Zayn grumbled again while rubbing his temples with his fingers.

"I'm not threatening her!! She's already scared of me and I don't want to make it worse!" They all looked at me strangely. In a way that made it seem like they didn't understand why I was doing this.

"She doesn't want to be here Liam. What makes you think she ever will want to?" Niall said speaking up for the first time. I knew he had a big heart for a guy in a gang but if he tries to let Katie get away then I will personally kill him myself.

"Guys you just don't fucking get it! You all have families that still care for you! They know what you do for a living and yet their still happy to see you or hear from you!" I paused to let my breathing calm down and looked at them, they all looked at me like they understood my reasoning now.

"And she-" I pointed at Katie's door where there was still yelling coming from.

"Is the only family I have!"

"What about your father?" Louis stepped towards me as he said that and I stood up too.

I scoffed as I hit my shoulder with his on my way to Katie's door. She gasped as she heard my footsteps getting closer to the door.
I opened the door rather fast and she fell into my arms. I kept my arms tight around her as she shook like a leaf in my grasp.

"Our father is dead to us Louis! Don't ever mention him to me or her again." I turned my head to look at him and saw that all four of them were staring at Katie wide eyed.

This was the first time the boys have seen her since she was asleep when I brought her home and her bedroom door was locked with the only key belonging to me.

"She looks just like you." Louis whispered while taking a few more steps towards us. The others continued to stare at Katie as they walked towards us as well.
Katie's head snapped towards them and she let out a small squeal before pushing herself away from me and falling to the floor.

"What's your name love?" Harry asked in a hushed tone as Louis stood right in front of her making her shake even more because of how scared she was.

"K-katie Dobbs." She tried to talk but her voice cracked.

"NO!" The words left my mouth so fast I couldn't stop them.

Everyone turned to look at me except Katie who covered her face with her small hands and let a few sobs out.

"Your name is Katie Payne!" Her crying continued as she slowly nodded her head not daring to look up at any of us.

We all just watched her cry for a few minutes, none of us moving or knowing what to do. Usually people who cry around us end up hurt or dead.
Neither of those are an option right now.

Eventually Louis grabbed her small wrists in his hands and pulled her off the ground, As soon as they touched you could almost hear the breathing catch in both their throats.

Katie looked up at Louis and he took in every inch of her flawless face.

Something changed in his eyes at that moment and he pulled her closer to him. The look in his eyes was the kind you get when you find a girl you want, someone to make yours and no one else can ever have them again. A look that was a mixture of protectiveness and lust.

The kind of look I hoped no one would look at Katie with.

She struggled in his grip as she tried to pull her hands away but Louis tightened his grip and made a small whimper leave Katie's mouth.

Shit Liam do something!

I cleared my throat and pulled Louis' arms away before wrapping my arm around Katie and bringing her into my side.

"Well before Katie and I go and bond I think we should all get acquainted with Katie." She nodded slowly at my words and leaned slightly into my touch.

That's a good sign. She's scared but still trusts me to protect her.

I pointed towards Louis first before talking.
"That person that you are under no circumstances to be alone with, is Louis."

Louis narrowed his eyes in my direction before turning his gaze to Katie who attempted to hide further behind me as he stared almost star struck like at her.

"This is Zayn." He nodded to her with a slight smile on his face, she didn't return his smile but nodded back to him.

"That's Harry." He stuck his hand out for her to high five but she just flinched and looked down, Harry mumbled something about her being jumpy and even though she heard him she still ignored it.

"And lastly is Niall." He smiled and did some sort of small wave to her. She actually smiled back and waved to him with a small blush creeping to her cheeks. I know I said I would kill Niall if he let Katie escape but in all honesty, if Katie were to somehow end up with one of them I would prefer it to be Niall.

It was the first time I had ever seen Katie's smile up close, of course I had been watching her for days before I took her but every time she would smile or laugh at something one of her old friends said, she looked down and her long hair would cover her face. Her smile was beautiful and looked just like our mothers did.

"C'mon Katie. Lets get you fed shall we?" She nodded at my words and clung to my arm as we past Louis.

Once in the kitchen I placed my hands on her hips and she tensed straight away.

"Relax Katie." I looked into her eyes and noticed that there wasn't as much fear as when she first met me.

I quickly lifted her up and placed her on the kitchen counter. She swung her legs back and forth, I watched as a small smile appeared on her face when she looked down at her feet.

Oh so innocent.

"We don't really need to bond if you don't want to instead how about I make some mac and cheese? Your favourite right?" She looked shocked.

She knew right then that we didn't need to bond because I knew all there was to know about her.

Smiling at me for the first time, she nodded at my idea.

"Sounds yum."

I let out a small chuckle at her words before turning to the fridge to grab what I needed.

Lets just pray she stays this innocent.

Anyone who reads A life of Payne as well, I'm sorry but I'm having the most ridiculous time trying to word the next chapter and am super stuck but will try and get the chapter up as soon as possible! xx
