Esoteric.

My door unexpectedly flew open just before our lips touched. It couldn't be my mom, right? Maybe she came back early. But if it wasn't her, there was only one other person who'd be able to get in my house. Every fiber of my being froze the second the very thought ran through my head.


"What the fuck?!" Shiloh's voice rang extremely loud through my ears. By this time Zayn had already let go of my hips. I slowly turned my head to face her.


"Hey." I said barely above a whisper though I knew she had most defiantly heard me.


"Hey? Hey?! Is that all you have to say?! I catch you once again about to kiss my brother and all you can say is Hey?!" She shouted her face turning a bright red.


I gulped back the abnormally large lump that had formed in my throat. "Uh..uh.."


"Uh, uh. Are you going to actually say words or stutter like a complete idiot?"


"Shi, you don't have to be such a bitch." Zayn said stepping between us.


"Shut up. I'll deal with you later." She snapped turning her attention to him. Weirdly enough he backed down.


"Get in the house Emerson." She snapped looking at me.


What the fuck did she just say? Did she just...she did. "What?"


"Are you deaf? Get in." She said steeping aside.


"Um, no. You. Get out."


"Excuse me?"


"Get out, are you deaf?" I said repeating her words.


She stood there staring at me incredulously.


"You're in my house. Get out. You're being an absolute and complete bitch and you need to leave. This has nothing to do with you. Get the fuck out." I snapped. I was so sign and tired of her bossing me around like I was her child. I'm perfectly capable of making my own decisions and I was getting tired of her. Though she was still in shock she stepped down onto the concrete outside my door.


"Zayn did you?" I asked gesturing inside. All he did was shake his head. He didn't even look at me. Did I do something?


"Are you..."


"Bye Emerson." He said blankly, cutting me off. Emerson, he called me Emerson. I watched as he walked away, Shiloh giving him a nasty look while she said something that I couldn't hear. It took me a few minutes to turn and walk back into the house. What the hell just happened? Everything was going so well and then...


Fucking Shiloh.

The weekend went by pretty quickly with not one call or text from Zayn. Great. My alarm was blaring through my room. I groaned rolling over to grab my phone, shutting off the alarm. I really was considering faking sick. My mom probably wouldn't buy it, or she'd insist of staying home to take care of me which would ultimately make me feel bad for lying to her.


I slid out of bed grabbing a pair of sweats sliding them up my legs. I pulled an over sized hoodie over my torso not bothering to put a shirt on beneath. I gathered my hair on the top of my head into a messy bun. I sprayed a bit of perfume on myself not worrying about any makeup. I grabbed my glasses not wanting to put my contacts in today. I knew I looked like hell, but I really could car less.


I dropped my phone into my pocket as I grabbed my keys off of my bedside table. Leaving my purse in my room along with all of my books. It's not like I'd be paying attention to anything today.


"Good morning!" My mom said cheerfully hearing me trudge down the steps.


"Hi." I grumbled.


"You okay baby?" She asked rounding the corner.


"Yeah. Just tired." I lied not wanting to tell her the truth.


"Did you want to stay home?"


Yes! "No." I groaned, knowing that all I'd do is sulk in all my grief.


"You sure?"


"Yeah. I'm just going to stop by Starbucks before school."


"Okay. I love you. See you later, okay?"


"I love you too, and yeah." I said giving her a small smile. She gave my a kiss on the cheek as she hugged me goodbye. The second I stepped outside I heard him. His voice. Even if his house was three away from mine I still had a clear view and there he was. Standing in all his perfection. He was talking to Niall while they were walking towards his car. His head suddenly snapped up, our eyes meeting. My eyes instantly started watering the second he looked away only a moment later.


I got into my car, wiping under my eyes before backing out of the driveway turning down the street heading towards Starbucks. I pulled into the school parking lot and of course he was there. Half of me had hoped he'd already be inside so that I didn't have to bother walking by him, but then again. Why would anything ever work in my favor.


I pulled my keys from the ignition tossing them in to my other pocket. I grabbed my coffee before opening my door, stepping outside. I looked down not wanting to have to look at him as I walked by.


"Em!" Shiloh shouted stopping me right in front of Zayn. Just fucking great.


"What?"


"Oh what's gotten into you?"


I looked at her wondering if she had gone mental or what.


"You don't look to well either. Are you okay?"


"Really?"


"What?" She asked as if she honestly had no idea. May me se was crazy.


"I don't want to talk to you right now."


"Why? What happened?"


"Are you fucking crazy?!" I shouted getting the attention of mostly everyone in the parking lot.


"Whoa. Calm down. What's wrong?"


"You! Your what's wrong! You're psychotic bitch! You try and control everyone around you, especially me and then you act like nothing happened. Like you're not a complete and absolute horrible friend. I don't even know why I've out up with your shit for this long. I'm so done with you and you're controlling, manipulative way. You could honestly care less about anyone else's happiness but your own. You're a selfish, lying bitch and I don't want you to even acknowledge I exits." I spat, pretty surprised at my words. I was never one to stand up for myself, let alone tell them in front of tons of people.


She stood there stunned. Her eyes watering a bit. Good. She fucking deserved it. I didn't bother looking back, but I knew he was staring right at me, along with basically everyone else who was around. I walked into to the school ignoring everyone's whispers as I walked up the steps and through the front doors.


I didn't bother getting anything out of my locker. I was almost to first period when I felt a hand wrap around my forearm tugging me into a dark room. I was about to scream when a hand covered my mouth, quieting me.


"It's just me."


I instantly calmed at the sound of his voice. As soon as he felt my body relax he released me. I turned around tilting my head upwards.


"What are y . . "


He suddenly pressed his lips to mine, pressing me against the wall behind us. It took me a second to realize what was actually happening. He was about to pull away noticing my lack of movement, I quickly pressed my lips back against his. It felt absolutely amazing having his warm, soft lips against mine. Better than I had imagined. His hands wrapped around my waist pulling me flush against him My arms slid up his chest and around his neck, my fingers tangling in his hair.


His tongue pressed against my bottom lip, begging for entrance which I automatically gave. His hands slid down my sides to the back of my thighs. Grabbing on, he lifted me up. My legs wrapping themselves around his torso. My mind couldn't even process what was happening.


This was crazy. Never had I though that I would be kissing Zayn.
We pulled away need a break to catch our breath. He released my thighs letting me down slowly. He stayed in the same spot though, not moving an inch. I looked up into his gorgeous hazel eyes, waiting for him to say something, anything.
