Fair Nights.
Summary
When I was in my adolescence, the way I had imagined growing up and discovering my true self, would be when I graduated high school and began applying for colleges. Slowly making the crucial decisions that would influence the rest of my living days.
But instead, I found myself in a small town with only one strip of stores and a permanent carnival, amongst kids with inked skin and dangling cigarettes. Their eyes all sunken and none of them acting their age. They were the kids my mom would shame me for talking to, my father would disown me for hooking up with, and even my younger self doubtful that I even called them my ‘friends’.
I didn’t have a choice. Even if I did though, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
