Happily (n)ever after

Alexis' p.o.v.

"Mom what are you thinking?" my youngest daughter, Katherine asked sitting on the couch

I stopped looking at the snow out the window and turned to her "Nothing sweetheart" I say sitting down next to her. She was about to ask me again when her sister entered the room.

"What's going on?" Darcy asked

"Mom's keeping secrets from us" Kat said to Darcy

"Mom this isn't the age that we should be interrogating you. We have our kids to do that" Darcy joked

"I'm not keeping anything from you two. That isn't even possible to do" I replied.

"But mom seriously, you seemed deep in thoughts. Are you sure that everything's alright?" Kat questioned

"I'm was thinking about family. Talking about family, when are your brothers getting here?" I asked

"We are here!" Jacob shouted

"Talk about the devils" I told my daughters who chuckled and hugged their brothers. I was lucky to have such an amazing family. My 4 children : Darcy, Edward, Katherine and Jacob. They were all married and have children which made me a proud grandmother.

"Let's eat. We have already waited for 2 hours" Daisy said to her husband a little upset

"I'm sorry but it's not my fault that my patient decided to have a heart attack" Jacob replied giving her a kiss. On which their children made a gagging sound. Jacob just shrugged but poor Daisy blushed and avoided eye contact. That boy always made her blush it didn't matter that it was now or 10 years ago.

"Daisy's right lets eat" I said. It was 2 days before Christmas. And like every year we spend it together. We all sat down and started to eat.

"Dad's coming back tomorrow, right?" Darcy asked

"Yes, he wanted to go see his sister since she can't be here for Christmas and if everything goes as planned he will be here around noon" I said

Dinner flew by. All the kids had some story to tell and I was glad to listen. After dinner we moved to the living room, the talking didn't stop thought.

"Grandma, why don't you tell us a story" Anna asked. Anna was my oldest granddaughter. She looked exactly like her mother, Darcy.

"My stories are always long darling. I don't want to bore you." I said

"They won't be bored mom." Edward said and all the grandchildren nodded "Why don't you tell them the story?" He asked

"That's the longest story Ed" I told him

"We don't mind" They all said

"Well If that's what everyone wants then I guess I could tell you the story" I said thinking where to start the story.

After taking a deep breath I started talking "This story starts about 48 years ago......."
