THE DEATH OF ME

Lola

It is a late Tuesday night and I am at the shack with Niall and Demi.
Demi is working the bar, while Niall and I are waiting tables. The night is slow, not many people at the shack, being it's the middle of the week, and Louis took Eleanor out to a show, leaving Demi in charge.

It was raining outside the weather turning colder with each passing day.
Harry has been in a few races since the day he took us drifting. He has been in two drifting matches, though I only attended one since I had work.

The dance was in a week and everyone had dates, except me, but it didn't matter since I wasn't going.

Liam was asked by this girl Sophia. She was on the debate team with Liam, and he was quite excited to be going with her.

This shift was fun, we had soft country music playing in the back ground, and I could hear Demi sing along every time I came up to the bar to get someone’s order.

The door opens, letting in cold air. A blonde walks in all bundled up in her coat, and takes one of the side tables that belonged to Niall.

I still can't believe Niall is parshly blind, since he moves around the bar better than me. When the blonde finally takes off her coat I immediately recognize her- Lola.

She is watching me for a while now, but I don’t approach her. I don’t want to, and she isn’t sitting at one of my tables so I don’t need to.

I go about my business getting people their orders, and making sure they are satisfied.
Harry will soon be here to take me home, and then I can forget about her.

“I know who you are,”
I didn't think she will turn to me, but she has.

“Good for you,” I mutter under my breath, annoyed I couldn't come up with anything witty or rude to say to get her to leave like he would.

“You are doing a mistake,” she continues, and I finally look up at her, really seeing her for the first time since.

The glamour was gone, she seemed tired and sick.

“I look different to you don’t I? Well.. if you don’t watch it you will too.. this what happens to whoever stays with him,” she is up in my face, her stale breath hitting my nose making me recoil.

“He is like a drug-no- poison! And once he enters your blood stream he’ll be the death of you,” she clenches on to my arm with her broken nails and I am frightened. Not because she is right, but because she seemed crazy, and all I needed was a scene.

"You're wrong," I pull away from her, turning to the table I was on my way to.
"Are you sure? I see the way you changed- I remember you- and look at you know- the tight clothes, the makeup, soon he'll be done with you, and then, then you'll be left to rot like me," She takes a step closer, and I can feel people staring at us now.

"I don't know what you're talking about," I stutter.

"But you do.. I can see it in your eyes, you're not a princess love, you'll go back to being a pumpkin in no time, and when you do, you'll be coming to look for me," She smiles. I study her face.

She could have been pretty, if she didn't dye her hair such a light colour, and if she didn't have that makeup on. I wonder how old she is.

"Ok Lola, it's time to go," Niall steps beside me, laying a hand on her shoulder.

"Don't touch me you blind bat!" She screeches, swatting at his hand and pushing him back.

"Watch your mouth," I hiss at her, my fear turning to anger. Even though I know Niall is older than me, I feel protective of him.

"Who the hell do you think you are? talking down to me?" She shouts. The people at the tables are turning around to watch us now.

"You think that now that you're fucking Harry Styles you rule the world?! I have news for you little girl- He will be done with you and throw you away like a piece of toilet paper," She screams.

"If you're done you can leave," I reply nonchalant.

"You don't tell me what to do you little cunt!" She tries to push me, but Niall steps in between us stopping her.

"Don't touch me you creep! Get off of me! I will kill you! It is all your fault! I had everything! And you took it away! You poisoned him! You stole him from me!" She was trying to break free of Niall's hold, but being blind doesn't mean you are weak, and Niall was much stronger then you would think he is.

"It's time for you to go," Niall pulls her to the door.

"Let me go! You can't kick me out you fucking wanker! Let go of me,"

"He can't but I can- and if you don't leave now I will call the police," Demi appears at our side, a cool gaze in her eyes.

"Fine.. but remember my words! You won't be by his side forever," And with that, she recoils and turns, leaving with her coat dragging on the floor after her.

"This round is on the house," Demi calls out to the few costumers in the shack.
I walk with her and Niall back to the bar.

"I'm so sorry," I tell them. I feel empty, as if Lola drained all the life out of me.
"You have nothing to apologize for, it wasn't your fault," Niall assures me.
"Would you have called the police?" I question, looking up at Demi who took her place behind the bar.

"Are you mad? With you being underage? NO way, but she didn't know that," Demi winks.
"Here, let me make you something to calm you down," Demi orders me to sit and take a break.
"Thank you Niall from saving me from that crazy woman," I say before he walks back to his tables.

"It was my absolute pleasure," He winks and walks off.

"What a nut job," I sigh leaning my elbow on the counter, and my chin in my hand as I wait for Demi to present me with her special calming remedy.

"Tell me about it, don't listen to anything she said, Harry is wonderful," Demi places a tall glass with a pink drink inside.

"Thanks," I say, taking a sip from the drink.

"No problem.. I mean Harry was known to be a player once upon a time, but he has changed, believe me," She goes on.

I nod and continue sipping from my fruity drink.

"What is in this thing?" I ask.

"Do you like it? It's a secret recipe," She beams.

"Yeah, it is amazing.. I should get back to my tables," I say, getting up from my stool.

I hope the drama was done for the night, but about 15 minutes after getting back to work I started feeling sick.

"Are you all right?" Niall stops me as I pass him.

"I'm not feeling so hot suddenly," I mumble, feeling as if I will throw up any moment now.

"I thought you were looking a little green, but I can never trust my eyes," He tries to joke, but I'm not up for it. I run to the loo, before I'm sick all over the shack's floor.
I make it just in time.

I don't know what is gotten over me. I was fine a moment ago. I am hoping I am not coming down with anything.

"Cass?" The door is pushed open and Harry walks in. He is earlier then he is supposed to be, but even though I am grateful.

He hurries to my side, holding back my hair. My eyes are watering from the burn in my throat and I wish it would stop.

"Harry, here is some water for her," I hear Niall in the back of me. Harry thanks him, and the door shuts.

I sit up, wiping my damp forehead, leaning my back against the wall.

"Drink this you will feel better," He hands over the glass of water.
I take a few sips, but not long after I am over the loo once more heaving.

"What did you drink," Harry looks down in a frown.

"Eww don't look at that, flush it down," I order him, my cheeks burn bright red, I am sure of it.

"What did you drink Cassandra! Tell me!" He demands, leaning down in front of my face.

"I don't know, Demi made me a secret calming drink after Lola threw a fit in here," I explain in a tremble.

"Lola? What? Wait- what did she give you? I'll be right back," He gets up to his feet and storms out. I follow him slowly out, feeling weak and sick.

"She is allergic to milk! How didn't you know that?!" Harry scoffs at her angrily.

"Harry leave her alone, why would she know that?" I call out, but my voice is weak and they don't hear me.

"I didn't know!" Demi seems mortified and I feel so bad for her.

"You should have! and what is this shit about Lola being here?" He demands his answers without giving her a chance to reply.

"Harry, strop it! it's not her fault," I touch his arm, I can feel the tension in it threw his jacket.

"I'm here! What did I miss," Nick, one of the waiters just arrives. I notice the confusion take over.

"Good, we are leaving," Harry grumbles, pulling me after him.

"Wait! Demi, it's fine, it was my fault I should have told you- I'm sorry," I say. She nods as Harry pulls me after him, and I wave goodbye.
