2 - I Already Knew
*2 Weeks Later*
"Yes, I will see you tonight," I said for what seemed the one hundredth time with Jonah.
"Okay, do good. I love you," he said. I sighed knowing I wouldn't say it back, because honestly right now, I didn't know what love is.
"Bye." I shoved my phone in my pocket as I moved out of the hotel room down to one of the ball rooms where the X-Factor contestants would be meeting for a meeting. I decided on wearing black leggings, and a sweatshirt because today was going to be a long day. I decided to leave my hair down since I washed it earlier this morning. Finally the I came to the ballroom door. Seats were in rows everywhere. I spotted Sarah, a girl from New York that's pretty nice, at the very back row. I sneaked towards the seat by her knowing I was late.
"Fashionably late," she said quietly, "like always." It was true, I was never on time. I smiled but listened to Simon talk.
"Now, for the show tomorrow, you will be performing a song individually. A member of our crew will pick which song that you will sing. And they will also check on each and everyone of you to help you with whatever you need for an hour or so. Today will be busy, so get going," he said. At once everyone stood up and headed out the door. I followed behind Sarah. Instruments were laying all around the huge hallways.
"You said you could play the piano right?" Sarah asked. I nodded my head and she pointed over to the electric pianos lying along the wall. I thanked her and headed over to get one. I picked one up and brought it to the very corner of the huge room away from everyone. I started to play chords to get used to the sound of this piano. I hummed along tunes as I played music by ear.
"Hello Delphine," someone said behind me. I turned around to see the one and only Harry Styles. Today he wore a sweatshirt with regular washed skinny jeans. He looked comfortable; like a normal person other than the mega pop star he was. But then again, he was a normal person.
"Hey," I said back calmly as he took a seat and leaned against the wall in front of me. He had his curly hair out this morning. It was all messy. It was hot. When did he ever not look good? Never.
"So, you play the piano, I see?" He asked.
"Obviously," I said sarcastically. He smirked but amusement didn't leave his eyes.
"So what song do you want to sing?" He asked while pulling out his cell phone.
"I thought you were supposed to choose," I said while eyeing him. He didn't answer. I thought what he might be doing on his phone that was so damn important.
"What are you doing Harry? Texting you girlfriend?" I asked with a playful tone. He smiled and looked up at me.
"I don't have a girlfriend," he said and went back to his phone. I laughed a little.
"I thought you were dating Taylor Swift?" I asked thinking back to all the gossip about them two. His jaw clenched and he turned his phone off.
"Not anymore. She's kind of weird, it's hard to explain. But I should have thought twice before dating her in the first place," he said while playing with the bracelets on his wrist, "because she writes all those love songs about her ex boyfriends." I finished for him causing him to laugh.
"Anyways, what song am I doing?" I asked. Harry studied me for a second.
"Well, you have a strong arse voice, so maybe Adele? Or maybe even Leona Lewis," he said. "Ok! I got it, you're going to sing 'Better In Love' by Leona Lewis." I nodded my head and wrote it down on my hand.
"So, go to to recording studio and talk to the helpers. This song would e huge if you could sing and play the piano at the same time," he explained. A smile made its way across my face.
"Thanks Harry," I said. We both got up from the floor. I bent down to pick up the piano and headed down to the recording studio.
"Here let me take this for you," Harry's familiar voice said as he lifted the long piano out of my hands. I let him, I mean, I could've done it by myself but, he asked.
"If you want to," I laughed. The walk to the studio was long.
"So what is it like being famous?" I asked him. It's not everyday you can have a person to person conversation with him.
"Well, my fans know more about me than I do, it's kind of funny. Performing across the world is a fantastic experience. Sex is great," he said. I laughed loudly at the last part.
"I bet it is. Every girl would die to have you," I said knowingly. He smiled, he knew it was true.
"Are you one of those girls?" He asked with a sly smile. I shrugged.
"I mean, you're hot no doubts about it. Your personality seems amusing. But I never really heard you sing before," I said quickly. He smirked.
"My personality seems amusing?" He asked putting emphasis on seems. I nodded my head.
"I literally just met you," I pointed out.
"Let me take you out then," he said while flicking his hair with his unoccupied hand. Hs smiled down at me with his dimples showing. Did he always use this on girls? Funny.
"I have a boyfriend," I mumbled.
"You don't sound happy about it," he said. I put on a fake smile and shook my head trying to look positive. He just rolled his eyes, damn, this boy already knew I was a terrible liar.
"Whatever, I don't want to talk about it," I said as we finally reached the studio rooms. There were ten doors, which one do I take?
"You know this is the step in the competition where you pick your singing coach too? So whoever is behind that door is going to be your coach," he pointed out. Yay, more pressure. Note the sarcasm. I took the piano from his hands.
"Thanks again," I said. He started to walk away and I paced by the doors.
"Choose the last door on the right," he said, "he's a good coach." I turned around to see Harry leaning against the wall with his hands stuff in his pockets. I nodded my head and waked towards the door. Before I could turn the door knob Harry spoke behind me again.
"If you need any help with your songs, I'm here also if Daniel has another singer he's teaching. And you should take me up on my offer. A friendly date," he said with a grin. I turned around once again.
"Okay, okay," I said. He did a little victory dance causing me to laugh.
"Meet me at the kitchen at 4. And don't eat lunch early," he said. I was confused but I went along with it.
"Okay, bye. Thanks again," I said while entering the room. I'm guessing his name was Daniel do to Harry earlier. A man stood up from a recording table and smiled at me. The room was just like a recording studio..literally. There was one distinct photo frame on the wall that caught me eye. It was a picture of him and Harry. Harry looked so much younger, it was cute. Below the picture was writing that said 'Thank you for being the best singing coach. -Harry'. A grin found its way over my face.
"Hi, my name is Daniel," he said. I already knew.
