Calum’s POV
“Jessica!” I say. I hear a grunt, obviously from my dad. I get in my car and Louis gets in on the passenger side.

“Calum, help!” I hear Jess yell.

“I’m coming!” I say

I hear Jessica scream but my car wouldn’t start, and I hear something hit the ground. Then the phone goes silent. Louis gets out of the car.
“We need to start running” He insists

Jessica POV

I kick my dad and he grunts. I start to run. “Calum, help!” I cough

“I’m coming!” he responds

I ran as fast as I could through the house, but my fastest wasn’t fast enough. Dad grabbed my arm and I screamed as he threw me to the ground and the phone slid out of my reach. He started to kick me brutally to the gut . Then he bent down and Then he bent down and whispered in my ear.

“Calum isn’t here to save you now” I tried to get up again but was pushed down again.


“Don’t… Run… Away… From… Me… Bitch!” he said between punches.

He continued for about five more minutes but it felt like an eternity, I couldn’t move without pain. At that moment where I swear I was close to death, I saw Calum come into the room and look at me look with astonishment and sorrow before getting tackled by dad. Dad started to punch him until I saw Calum’s eyes close and my heart skipped 3 beats.

“S-stop” I whimper, trying to yell

He looked at me and came over and stepped on my throat but he was tackled by another boy before I passed out. I looked at Calum and his eyes were still closed. Then I looked at his chest and saw it was moving up and down. I felt weight lift off my shoulders. Then the boy came over and I realized it was Louis Tomlinson. He pulled out his phone and called 999 (In America its 911). Then he picked me up, I shrieked from the pain.

“I’m sorry, Jessica” I hear him say and I could tell in his eyes he wasn’t lying. I look over and see my dad get up and run away, I look back at Louis and I could tell he wanted to chase after him. Then he turned around and looked at Calum, his nose was bleeding and he had a cut on his cheek. Louis looks at me and he saw the tears in my eyes.

“He’s going to be fine” he says

He turns so I couldn’t see my big brother, and to be honest, if I had looked at him any longer, I would have started to bawl. The ambulance came and took my brother and I to the hospital and Louis rode along. I remember seeing Calum being laid on a stretcher and then I saw there was one next to me also. Louis started to lay me out and I howled, he moved me again but this time I passed out from the pain. I awoke in the hospital and saw Calum looking at me.

“Hey Jessie Boo” he said shaky

“Hey Cally” I say

“How you feelin?” to be honest I didn’t even know yet

I moved my arms and my legs and shriveled from the pain.

 “Not that good” I answer

“I’m sorry I didn’t get home sooner, my car didn’t start an-“

“Shh, Its ok” I whisper

“Jessica, no its not, Dad has almost killed you more than once” he said with tears welding up in his eyes.
