Stranded

"Sky. Wake up." Some shakes me. I just groan and roll onto my side. "Shut up and go away Shane." I whine, swatting him away. "Who's Shane?" The voice asks, confused. I shoot up in bed, looking around. I was not here just last night. Oh wait-yea I was. "My brother. Twin to be exact." I say, looking at Harry. "Oh." He mutters. "Why'd you wake me?" I ask, looking around at the sleeping others. "C'mon, I'll show you." He grabs my hand, smiling. I grab my crutches and we walk down the beach, the sun sitting at the edge between the water and fiery sky. He sits down on a gently laid blanket and pulls me next to him. "What's this for?" I ask, looking at him. "Well, I figured this would get your mind off some things for a little while." He smiles. I smile thankfully at him and lean back on my hands. "It's beautiful." I sigh. I'm not use to watching the sunrise without Shane or mum. Shane and I would sneak out sometimes and go watch it somewhere. Mum would take us to the coast sometimes for a sunset. My heart clenches at the sorrowful memories. I might never see them again. "Yea. It is." He says. "Why'd you do this?" I ask out of curiosity. "Like I said, you need to get your mind off things." He says, looking over at me. "No, I mean, why'd you do it? You can give me a stick, string and a rock and I'd be complete for the day." I say, making him laugh. "I'd go out of my way to make you happy. You deserve something good right now." He says. "So do you." I say. I don't want everything to be for me. He deserves to be happy too. "And I am. But with Zayn, your brother, and us, you have a lot going on. See, we have each other. We know each other. But you, we're new to you. So I figured might as well make you happy if I have a chance." He smiles, turning back to the sunrise. I smile to myself, looking in the same direction. I never really thought of these boys as normal guys. I always thought they'd be stuck up like every other celebrity. They'd think they were better than everyone else. But no, they're just normal guys. They have problems just like everyone else. "C'mon, we should go get everyone something to eat. We can check the snares." I say, getting up and heading to the woods. I check one snare and he checks the other. "Hey!" He yells. I go over as fast as I can and see him holding a limp rabbit by the tail. I smile when I see it and I give him my bag. He stuffs it inside and I kneel down beside some plants. I inspect it and grab a few handfuls, stuffing it inside the bag. "Alright. Let's go." I say, heading back to camp. "How do we cook the rabbit?" He asks. "With fire." I say, making him stop and glare at me. "Shut up." He says, sitting on the sand. I start making the fire with success. "Liam!" I call out. He comes over and sits by me. "Yes?" He asks, crossing his legs. "Can you skin this?" I plead, holding the rabbit out to him. "Uh." His eyes widen at the gimp animal. "Please? Or do you want Niall to go insane?" I say. He takes the rabbit and starts to cut into it with the knife. I watch in disgust as he peels the skin off like a wet T-shirt. Next, he carefully opens it and takes the entails out. "Don't throw that out!" I say, coming up with an idea. "What? Why?" He asks, his face twisting in disgust. "Because that can be bait for more food." I say in a duh tone. "True. Very clever." He says, nodding in approval. He sets it aside and starts to cut the meat up. I make a makeshift tray to cook it on and we put it on the fire. We leave it to cook for a little while, turning it every so often. I get the greens ready and set it over the fire for a few minutes. "Hey." A voice says behind me. Everyone else left to do their own things when they woke up. "Oh hey." I say to the boy that I saved yesterday. "I'm Luke." He smiles. "Sky." I respond with my name. "I like your name." He smiles. "Thanks." I say, turning the food. "You seem pretty chill about this whole thing." He says, crossing his arms over his legs. "Yea, well I mean, there's nothing we can really do about it. Might as well make the most of it." I shrug. "Yea. I guess that's true." He says, gazing into the fire. "Did that hurt?" I ask, pointing to my own lip. "This? Nah. Barely felt it." He moves his lip ring in and out. "It looks cool." I compliment. "Thanks. Do you have any piercings?" He asks, looking at me. "My ears, industrial and belly button." I say, pointing to all the places on my body. "Did that hurt?" He asks, pointing to his upper ear. "Yea. I almost passed out." I laugh, making him laugh. "It really hurt that bad?" He asks, astounded. "Actually, no. It's just that I didn't eat or drink anything before and I bled a lot. Every time I get a piercing I bleed a lot. My belly button looked like I got a baby ripped out of me after that was over." I explain. We end up rolling in laughter. "That is too funny." He says breathy. "I wanted to get my nose pierced but now I'm scared I'm going to bleed to death." I laugh. "You should do it. You'd look even cuter." He smiles, making me blush. "You know what I love though." I say, he gives me a look, urging me to go on. "Snake bites. I don't know, I really like them." I admit. "My friend wants snake bites. I might get them. I don't know yet." He says. "That's cool." I say, drawing shapes in the sand. "I should probably go set some traps. I'll see you later." I say, wrapping the leftovers of the rabbit in a ripped shirt. I turn the rabbit over and leave it. "Alright. See you later?" He says and I nod. He helps me up and gives me my crutches. I make my way into the woods and start the traps. Once I'm done I start heading back. You know, I've been thinking about it and maybe I should give Zayn a second chance. I mean, not as anything more than friends-at least for now. I think he really has changed. He's matured so much. Maybe we can start back off where we left off as children. I hear some rustling and I stop in my tracks. I turn and quietly walk to where the sound is coming from. I move a few branches and I see Zayn and the girl against a tree making out. His hands on her bum, pinning her to the tree, her hands running through his hair. "Oh god." She pulls away when she sees me. "Sorry." I say, still in shock. Before I turn around and run, I see a look of shock on Zayn's face. He starts to come towards me but I take off running straight back into the woods. I feel my nose burn and my vision gets blurry. I don't know why it hurts this much. It really shouldn't. I don't like him that way. I guess because I just decided to let him back in and he betrayed me before I even forgave him. But why does it hurt so much? Why does my chest feel empty now? Why did I even think about forgiving him?
Notes
Hey guys. I'm so sorry its been so long. I had to rewrite the chapter 3 times because it erased it. Plus I had writers block. But how did it turn out? Good? I hope so. If you like it, please vote, comment and subscribe! I'll start the next chapter right now and right wheniI finish it, I'll post it. Hey, maybe it'll be today, who knows. But I gotta get back to decorating for Christmas.
Guys I'm so sorry I went Mia for like months now. I've had way too many things on my plate. But it's summer now so hopefully I'll have more time on my hands for writing. I've missed it so much. That is, unless Isaac keeps me busy all summer haha. Isaacs my boyfriend for those of you who don't know. Well, I'm back in business for a while :D
