Meeting the Neighbors

We were finally finished unpacking, and setting up everything. I was officially tired after two hours of my dad yelling at me to hurry up. One note, you don't want to get in my dads way, especially when moving into a new house. I really do speak from experience.

We move every once in awhile, probably since I was four. Every three or four years he has this job change so we have to move somewhere else. You would thinks that all my friends would be devastated, but I don't make really good friends or I'll get clingy.

"Victoria Edith! Get off the computer!" Dad scolds me for sneaking onto my laptop as he walks into my unfinished room. The walls are a pale gray and the carpet is a nice hard wood floor. "What would you like done with your room?"

Of course, we have enough money to do anything we want with our house, really. So he always comes up with this questions whenever we move into a new nice house.

"You won't get my wall color right so I'll come with to get that. Oh and I want to keep the flooring." I say, putting my laptop back in its case. I was grounded from it just because I didn't do one chore, folding the laundry and putting it up.

He just leaves my room, and heads to find Chris and Georgie. My step mom, Johanna, will want to have her own room, so that adds another person to the bill. My dad says he's fine with his because he barely uses his bedroom anyway, being out on patrol and other crap.

The doorbell rings, and I run past my dad on my way down the stairs. He nearly falls over, but I shrug and keep walking to the door.

"No honey, plea-" A woman begins as I open the door as she straightens up a boy my age. His beautiful brown eyes look me up and down.

"Okay, I met her can we go now?" he asks. That kind of hurt.

"No," The older woman says, then turns to me. "Sorry about him, he's not into meeting people unless they're middle names are trouble." The lady rolls her eyes at her scowling son.

"I'm Victoria, but everyone calls me Vinnie." I smile at them. The boy just stares at the pink flowers in the front to the house.

"I'm Sammy, and this is my boy, Zayn." Sammy smiles back at me. "Welcome to the neighborhood. Could I talk to your parents or guardian, by any chance?"

"You came here just in time, my parents are going to leave to the store." I turn around. "Johanna! Dad! We have visitors."

Georgie hops down the stairs, and I know what she's going to do, everyone knows what she's going to do. She pushes past me. "Oh my god, I love your hair!" Georgie greets both of them, then flips her blonde hair back. "I'm Georgie, Vicky's step sister."

You see Johanna raised Georgie to compliment people while meeting them for the first time. The step monster says it will get her friends, but have you seen how many friends she invites over?

"Oh thank you Georgie." Sammy grins widely. I groan, Johanna, nor dad has shown up yet. "Can I come back when your parents are ready?" I nod and shut the door as they walk away.

"Don't embarrass me in front of a guy, please, Georgie? I don't want them to know my sister is a super friendly freak." I say, plopping down on the couch.
