Little Me

Promise; a commitment by someone to do or not do something. They are not meant to be broken.

I let out a long and over dramatic sigh. Working at the movie theatre was boring. Especially when my partner in crime is running an hour late. Sure I was surrounded by people my age but nothing is as fun or amusing when Louis wasn't around. I checked my phone for what seemed like the billionth time, he hasn't replied to my texts or called. I was kind of worried.

Our boss wasn't happy. He didn't bother to call in sick or have his mom call in. Which was no surprise seeing how immature he was.

Just then someone burst through the doors, tripped over their own two feet and face planted. I started to laugh uncontrollably as I noticed it to be Louis Tomlinson; my best friend.

I left my station and ran over to help the poor man up.

"Kassi! Kassi! Kassi! Oh my god Kassi!" He said jumping up and hugging me. This was nothing out of the ordinary for us.

"Well good morning to you too, honeybuns." I said as he held me close and jumped up and down.

"Screw the mornings, Kassi! They came to me! The actually came to me! I got the invite thingy!" He rambled shoving some envelope in my face. I grabbed it and inspected it.

Holy shit. The X factor. Louis had gotten the call. He was going to be auditioning! This was so surreal! It ha always been his dream to become a famous musician, he wanted to give back to his parents and buy them a house so they can be financially secure.

We had also talked about buying a house together, no not as a couple but as a best-friends-that-can't-live-without-each-other kind of thing. Of course it was just a dream, but now things were working in his favor.

"This is fantastic Louis! I am so proud of you!" I said as happy tears started to pour! I pulled him into a tight embrace. This was fantastic!

Our moment was ruined by our boss, Rick.

"What the hell, Louis! You didn't call, didn't show up, didn't give notice? Who do you think you are?!" He exclaimed turning purple. Kind of like Vernon Dursley in Harry Potter. The resemblance between the two was astonishing.

"I am Louis Tomlinson, future dream boat and pop star!" He said putting his hands on his hips and puffing his chest out, acting all high and mighty. I giggled and looped my arms with his. Which only made our boss even angrier.

"Yeah right! Just a silly dream, be realistic, boy. Your not going to be anyone." He huffed. I rolled my eyes, he then turned to me.

"And you!" He yelled pointing a chubby finger at me and jabbing me in the chest. Kind of hurt but I wouldn't let him see it. "What are you doing out of your station?" I shrugged.

"I will not allow you to talk to a lady like that. Especially Kassi. We quit." Louis said pulling me towards the door. "Louis stop!" I said. I looked him dead in the eye.

"I can't quit! You can, I have to stay here and save up to move away!" I said. I can't believe he did that.

"Kassi, trust me. I will win X factor, become rich and we will do what we always wanted to do! I'll take care of you!" He said pulling me all the way out. Guess there was no going back. Not that I wanted to.

"Fine Louis." I said getting in his car. Good thing I walked to work today.

I drifted into my thoughts. Louis on X factor.. Fame... Money... Girls... What if he lets it get to his head? What if I'm not good enough for him anymore? Silly, I know.. But to he fear is logical. He'll find better. He'll forget about me. The thought if that was unbearable!

"Kassi?" Louis said. I looked at him, his face went from concerned to sad.

"What's wrong? Why're you crying?" He asked. I felt my cheeks and the were indeed wet.

"I was just thinking." I mumbled looking away from his sea green eyes.

"About?" He questioned.

I took a big sigh.

"I'm scared that, when you win and get famous you'll forget about me.. I'll no longer be good enough.. That I'll be nothing." I couldn't look at him.

He took my chin and made me look at him.

"Kassi. I could never ever forget about you. Ever. I'll come right back home and take you on my adventures! It'll be me and you together, forever! I promise.x
