Lyric’s P.O.V.
“Hello hello sweetie wake up.” An unfamiliar voice sang quite cheerfully almost excited. Of Lord Jesus please god tell me I haven’t been kidnapped. I slowly opened my eyes expecting the worst but my gaze fell on a woman and I crinkled my brow in confusion and then I caught a glimpse of niall in the background. I attempted getting up but failed miserably when my head hit something and I fell right back down into the car seat.
“Ahh” I moaned placing my hand on my throbbing head. “Whoa blurry” I said opening my eyes trying adjust to the unfamiliar surroundings and the hit on the head. And I heard someone chuckle.
“Are you ok princess” niall said placing his hand on my shoulder and on my elbow helping me up. As soon as I was on my feet niall let go of me and I stepped forward and I tripped on what I assumed was probably Niall's foot.
“Holy crap” I said falling down and landing on the solid ground and again I groaned.
“What a great way to start off my day huh” I said turning over on my back and sitting up.
“Oh my gosh are you alright” the woman asked
“Oh yeah no I’m fine I was just doing a gravity check.” I said hoarsely and I heard niall restrain a laugh.
“niall help please I don’t have the energy to get up.” I said placing my hands on my temples
“of course princess” he said wrapped his arms around me and picked me up and held onto me in case I fell again. He placed me on the hood of the car and I looked from him to the woman next to him.
“Oh yeah mom, my girlfriend Lyric. Lyric, my mom.” Niall said
“Oh it’s such a pleasure to meet you.” She said engulfing my in a hug. I reacted quickly and hugged her back.
“The pleasure is all mine.” I said pulling away and she just stared at me with a smile on her face and I couldn’t help but smile at her too. She sighed and placed a hand on my cheek.
“Ah I’m so glad to finally meet you darling.” She dropped her hand from my cheek and grabbed my wrist and motioned for niall to follow.
“Come on let’s get you inside and get you an icepack.” She said pulling me up the porch steps and I looked back at niall and I glared at him. How could he have brought me here and not tell me I just made a fool out of myself in front of his mom. Seriously Lyric “I was just doing a gravity check” how stupid must I have looked. I shook my head just think about it. She threw open the door and she continued to drag me into what seemed like the kitchen.
“Here you go sweetie” she said handing me an ice pack and closing the refrigerator door. “Ok well I’m going to cook lunch and while I do that niall could you show her the room you guys will be staying at.” She said and niall nodded at soon enough I was being dragged up some stairs and into a room. As soon as we were in the room Niall closed the bedroom door and turned to look at me with fear in his eyes.
“Ok please don’t be mad at me” he said but I wasn’t mad at him I was just disappointed somehow.
“What the heck was that? Why didn’t you tell me you were bringing me to meet your family? If you had told me I wouldn’t have looked like an idiot in front of your mom.” I said fuming
“I know I’m sorry I just wanted it to be a surprise.” Niall said shifting his gaze from me to the ground. I threw the ice pack I had in my hand at him and it hit his chest.
“Ow what was that for.” He said placing his hand over his chest.
“That was for making me look stupid in front of your mother.” I said. He bent down and threw it back at me thinking it was going to hit me but I caught it. And I threw it at him again.
“And that was for not telling me we were coming here.” I said
“Ok ok ok” he said putting his hands in the air in defeat and sitting down on the king sized bed.
“I’m sorry” he said looking down
“You should be you dumb ass.” I said walking over and placing my hands on his knees. He looked up at me and I leaned down and I brushed my lips against his.
“it’s ok baby I know you meant well but next time just tell me ok.” I said against his lips and he nodded I smiled and I closed the gap between us.
Niall’s P.O.V.
“Ok everyone dig in” my mom said placing the last plate down on the table. A couple of hours ago the rest of my family got here. So Lyric had now met everyone.
“so Lyric what’s it like to be a professional softball player.” My brother Gregg
“To be honest I have no idea. It feels so normal to me it’s just like when I was younger everyone cheering and stuff it all the same it’s just that now I get paid to play and I really don’t think that I’m that good because my team is there too they are a big part of the success we have.” She answered
“And how much do you get paid.” Gregg asked
“Ooh um I don’t know roughly twenty eight million a year sometimes a little more.” She said before taking a sip of her drink. And everyone’s eyes went wide
“But to be honest it’s not a lot compared to niall.” She said nodding her head in my direction. And everyone’s gazed turned to me and I nervously laughed.
“But yeah it’s pretty fun and I have an amazing team.” She said nodding
“You’re from Texas is that correct” my mom asked
“Yes I am” she replied a wide smile on her face
“How’s it like down there” my dad asked
“Really really hot” she said
“And I can confirm that” I said raising my hand earning a giggle from Lyric.
After that we all kind of split into our own conversations. Lyric was talking to my mom and my dad.
“Hey bro” Gregg called
“hmm” I hummed spinning around to face him.
“Hey you better take real good care of her.” He said pointing to Lyric I turned to look at her as she laughed with my parents I smiled. “She’s a keeper man. Hold her and never let her go.” he said

“That went well” Lyric said plopping down onto the bed and laying back down on the mattress.
“Yeah” I sighed
“I love your family.” She said and I lightly chuckled
“It’s true their so cool and laid back your mom’s really cool too.” She continued. I shook my head and I kissed her lips and I laid down beside her.
