When Two Worlds Collide
Ch. 16 Texas
Niall’s P.O.V.
We had just gotten off the plane and were going to the baggage claim area. Me and the boys came with Lyric to Austin Texas to help her pack and she said we could possibly go to the beach.
“Come on mate let’s go” Louis said as he nodded his head towards the door where Lyric and Liam waited for the rest of us. Harry hailed a cab and Lyric told him the directions to her house. The ride to her house was about a 20 minute drive. We got out of the cab and Zayn paid him.
“Huh nice house.” Liam said
“Thanks” she said while walking towards the front door and picking up the rug and picking up a key and unlocking it.
“Haha nice” Louis said referring to the key under the rug
“Yep” lyric said whilst nodding her head and opening the door
“Ahh home sweet home” she sighing
“Oh you already got the boxes and everything.” Zayn said looking around
“Yeah I had some of my friends get me some boxes and stuff” she said shrugging “ok well I’m a bit jet-lagged so I’m gonna go take a nap. Anyone that wants to take a nap follows me.” We basically followed her. She went up the stairs and showed us the rooms we were going to be staying in.
“Ok Louis my brother’s room. Harry other brother’s room next to Louis. Zayn guest room which is across from mine. And Liam parents room. And by the way there is nothing in those rooms ok it’s pretty basic ok bathroom, bed, nightstand, and a TV ok cool.alright good afternoon everyone.” With that she spun around on her heel and went down the hall. I assumed I was suppose I follow her so I did. She went directly to her closet and started to rummage through it. I sat down on the edge of her bed and looked around her room. Her walls were a light purple she had a lot of shelves with a lot of trophies. And she had 2 bookshelves full of books. And then one particular shelf caught my attention. It had six photo graphs they were all framed. One of the photos was of her younger brother the other was of her older brother then her mom then her dad. I looked at the last one and picked it up. It was lyric and her family they were all at the beach smiling from ear to ear. I Looked at the far right corner and it had a date of when the photo was taken. July 20, 2002. But quickly my smile faded this picture was taken eight days before her birthday, eight days before her family died.
Lyric’s P.O.V.
I walked out of the closet to see niall holding up the picture of me and my family at the beach. And I couldn’t help but sigh. I guess niall heard and turned around and looked from me to the picture frame
“I um I was um I was just.” Niall stuttered
“it’s ok.” I said walking over to him and taking the picture frame from him and walking back to my bed and sitting down at the edge of it.
“You seem really happy in that picture” niall said
“yeah I was.” I said running my thumb over my brothers faces. And then I look at myself and remember the necklace my brother gave me
*flashback*
Me and my brothers were in the ocean looking for sea shells
“hey look a I found a sharks tooth” my little brother Ethan said as he put it up in the air.
“Oh cool.” Jake said walking towards Ethan and taking the sharks tooth
“dude that’s awesome.” I said as I looked at it
“hey come on lets eat.” My mom called out to us. we all raced to the tent to eat. While we were eating my mom told us we were leaving after we were done eating.
“hey lyric when were done meet me by the sand dunes ok.” Jake said and I nodded. When I finished eating I looked out onto the sand dunes and I spotted Jake I walked over to him and sat down next to him.
“Hey I wanted to give you your birthday present.” He said pulling out a little box with a pink bow on it.
“But it’s not my birthday yet.” I said as I took the box in my hands
“I know but it seems like a good time to give it to you know. So open it” Jake said urging me to open it the box. I took off the lid and there lie two beautiful necklaces. http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=88185371
“Oh my god Jake thank you so much.” I Said as I gave him a hug
“no problem. Anything for my sister.” He said as he pulled away. “Now come on we need go before they leave without us.”

I got off the bed and walked towards my dresser and opened my jewelry box. I pulled out the necklaces and stared at them
“those are pretty.” Niall said from behind me
“yeah Jake gave them to me that day before we left the beach. Those were my birthday present from him.” I said as I put them back in the box. Niall was about to say something when we heard the door bell down stairs. We walked to the front door and opened it.
“hey lyric.” Austin said
“oh my god hey Austin.” I said giving him a hug. “come in, come in.” I looked over at niall and he was straight up staring at Austin. Oh god please don’t be jealous.
“Austin this is my boyfriend Niall. Niall this is Austin.”
“Hey man nice to meet you.” Austin said as he stuck out a hand for niall to shake which he did
“You too.” Niall replied
“so what are you doing here.” I asked
“oh I was walking by and I saw the cab drop you guys off so I thought I would stop by and say hi.and congratulate you lyric.”
“aw thanks and for what.”
“for that out of the park hit you did.”
“oh that you saw game huh.” I asked as I walked to the kitchen and grabbed a water bottle.
“yeah I got to see it since it didn’t have practice.” Austin said and I nodded.
“So when did you get back.” I asked
“2 weeks ago”
“Ahh ok. So how’s it going in baseball?”I asked
“pretty good and you and softball.” Austin replied
“Oh ya know world champions the usual.” I said shrugging
“Oh shut up.” Austin said which caused me to giggle.
“So what do you.”
Niall’s P.O.V.
“So what do you do?” he asked which I guess he asked me
“oh I’m in a band.” I said
“woah cool accent. Irish.” He said I nodded my head
“nice what band maybe I have heard of it.”
“um one direction.”
“oh yeah the boy band yeah I have heard some of your songs on the radio their good.”
“thanks man.”
“so is it just you and lyric staying.” Austin asked
“Actually no Liam, Louis, Harry, and Zayn our best friends and they are also in the band with niall are staying but their upstairs taking a nap.”
“Oh how come.” He asked
“Oh lyric’s moving to London.” I said “we’re just here to help her pack.”
“Oh” was all he said
“Yeah” lyric said
“so how are the guys. How are they holding up.” Lyric asked
“Yeah no their good. They’re doing fine.” He replied. He and lyric kept talking and I pulled out my phone and texted Liam
Me: Liam get down to the kitchen now and bring they est of the boys
Liam: ok on my way
A few minutes later they guys walked into the kitchen and greeted Austin.
“ok well I better get going nice meeting you guys and nice seeing you again lyric. Take care guys.” He said as he was leaving. When he passed by me he nodded his head as for me to follow him. So I did. I followed him to the front door he stopped and turned to face me.
“look man treat lyric right ‘cause she’s dated some assholes. And she’s been hurt ok take care of her for me man.”
“I will.” I said before he left he patted my back and turned to leave.i closed the door and went back to the kitchen.
“ah niall ok we just discussing lunch so what do want.” Zayn asked
“ooh oh my god how did I not think of this before Whataburger.”
“what” harry knitted his eyebrows in confusion
“Whataburger is a fast food restaurant.”
“well if it is a fast food restaurant then how have we not heard of it before.” Liam asked
“‘Cause it’s only in Texas nowhere else” she said
“Ok well let’s go’ Louis said

“wow those were good burgers” Zayn said
“Yeah I agree with that” I said getting up and walking to the living room and looking through all the movies she had. Soon we were all looking through her movies.
“man lyric is such a geek” Louis said
“hey I heard that” she said
“you were supposed to” Louis said with a smirk and lyric scoffed.
“wow lyric you don’t have any chick flicks.” Zayn said
“yeah I know those I don’t buy I rent them.”
“yeah but you buy Jackie Chan movies right.” Harry said
“Whoa whoa whoa. Whoa .hold up you better not be insulting Jackie Chan I’m sorry but he’s a badass ok sorry but I would pick him anyway.” I gasped and put a hand over my heart
“that cut me babe that cut me real deep.”
“Oh shut up horan.” She picked up a pillow and threw it at me and I started to laugh.
“alright lets watch the avengers.” Zayn said getting up and sitting on the couch.
“whoop whoop yes. Love you Chris Evans ha-ha.” Lyric yelled jumping up from the couch and running into the kitchen. She came back with three bags of chips and a twelve pack of soda cans. We watch movies all night but lyric didn’t last the five movies we were going to see. She made it to the third one but then fell asleep. I carried her to her room put her in bed and I went to sleep too.
