London, at a restaurant


As soon as Harry, Liam and Zayn got Niall, the seven of them had left the opera. They had left the old corridors with cracklings paint. The faint sent of sweat, glitter and hairspray mixed with old wood, worn out carpets. Amber loved this place, she always had since she moved to London. She felt in her element here, a place used and ragged after welcoming dancers for decades. The four men, Niall's friends, felt as intruders in her sacred place. She had come by foot this morning, so Harry had asked her to come with him in a car, but she had rather chosen Niall's sweet offer to give her a lift. It was now around 10pm and Amber had no clue where she was going.

The five men had decided to go to a fancy restaurant to celebrate Niall's opening night as the Prince. The kind of restaurant where everything seemed expensive, where even breathing would seem awkward. As Amber and Niall got out of the car and joined the rest of the group, he escorted her, his steady, warm hand laying on her back. As they passed the glassy doors, they were walking on fluffy carpets, with crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The light was dim but warming. The restaurant still had a modern twist woven with ancient adornment. Its dark wooded sets of tables and elaborated chairs. Amber had never been in such a place. She thought the grasped atmosphere was sophisticated and nerve wrecking, somehow she enjoyed it. The young, little Amber inside her was amazed, but the current Amber kept her cold, icy, arrogant face. Niall, however, seemed to know this place, as the other men did. How could a professional ballet dancer be used to such a place? The waiter led the small group to a round table, near the piano. They all sat down, and Amber found herself in between Harry and Niall.

The conversation was lively, it had nothing of the strained and tensed atmosphere Amber sensed before. She enjoyed herself, Louis was quite the joker. Eleanor kept laughing at every drollery. Although M. Malik, Zayn had seemed mysterious at first, he was funny and enjoyable. M. Payne was also surprisingly talkative. Even Harry was somehow agreeable. Everything was going smoothly until Amber felt Harry's leg brushing against her bare skin. Such an unnatural touch, she shifted away. Her skin was tingling after his touch. She chuckled, it was definitely not the time to run away anymore. This time she was going to go after him. She caressed her heel against his ankle. He smirked at the touch. She could feel his intense stare, but she made as if nothing was happening and continued talking.

"- I was saying, that Niall definitely did a great job, but the setting was marvelous as well.", M. Payne praised.

"- Thanks you very much, it is all to thank our artistic director. It was quite a challenge to him, I heard.", Amber answered, she could feel Harry's leg smoothing against her thighs. She shivered, it took a lot of willpower not to smack him away. She loved to feel challenged, and she was going to win this round.

"- How come I didn't hear about any complications?", Zayn asked. Amber was stroking Harry's shin with her foot.

"- It was mostly due to abnormal form of the stage, the setting has to look perfect from every angle for the audience.", Niall answered, his look heavy on Amber, "The props were therefore difficult to built. But no prop would ever be as good as a dancer.". Then out of the blue, he kissed Amber cheek.

Amber didn't expect the touch and blushed a little. She thanked Niall for the praise, and laughed a little. As an angry answer, Harry put his hand on her mid-thigh. Oblivious of what was going on under the table, M. Payne agreed with Niall and the conversation went on. Amber could feel the pressure of the hand, it was warm on her bare skin. She had goosebumps on the back of her neck. But she wasn't going to give in. Not this time. She swiftly put her hand and top of Harry's. Then she slowly stole Harry's glance and bit her lower lip. She knew everything about the art of seduction. She watched him, almost secretly, the feeling of a stolen kiss. As she did so, she entwined her fingers with Harry's.

He knew what she trying to do. Doing so he was unable to keep going any higher, and breaking the link would ruin any chance of going any further. Harry smirked, the girl was smart. But the night wasn't over yet.
