London, behind the opera


It was already noon when they were finally done with the rehearsal. She wanted to crawl out of the room. She was tired and every single muscle hurt. She had been training for 7 hours already with only few breaks. She took a long shower enjoying the warmth rolling on her worn out body. She got out of the shower and wrapped herself in a towel. It felt great. She stared at her reflection in the mirror, her knees were blue and her feet were still bleeding. She got to the changing room to heal her blisters. Eleanor was also there, applying bandages on her own feet. She handed the box to Amber. A few weeks ago Amber would have ignored her completely, but she took the box and sat down in the corner. As soon as she was ready she changed into something a little lighter and decided to head out to eat lunch. Eleanor followed her out and insisted on eating lunch together with her. Amber didn't really mind so both went to a small restaurant right behind the Opera.


Eleanor started talking about the premiere tonight, hoping everything was going to be fine. Then she went on about the audience. The beautiful cloths, handsome men and elegant ladies. She was exited about it, since the finest people of London were coming. Amber believed they were just hypocrites making as if it they were interested. Faking a smile, show of their money and give a complicated interpretation of the piece they just saw. Eleanor didn't seem to care that these people were just full of themselves, crawling under their own money. She was going on about the privilege to have such a great audience. Although she was older than Amber she was talking a lot. She reminded her of an exited Chihuahua, and made her laugh. Eleanor smirked as Amber finally burst into laughter.

"- I heard Harry Styles is a good friend of Leroy, our choreographer in case you didn't bother to remember his name, I hope he'll be there tonight,"

Amber indeed didn't bother to remember the name. But Eleanor seemed quite exited about that Harry so she shortly answered with an obvious lack of conviction:

"- Great."

"- You don't even know who he is, do you?", she answered back.

"- Nope and i don't really care.", Amber was quite bored of this conversation and concentrated on her meal. She would have rather eaten alone if Eleanor kept bugging like that.

"- Obviously you don't, she rolled to eyes, he's like Chuck in Gossip Girl, rich, powerful and on top of that very handsome. Don't you ever read the papers?"

"- So he is also mean, manipulative and obnoxious."

"- You do have a girly side as well! Never thought you would actually know something about Gossip girl." , Eleanor wore a bright smile, eyes filled with glee.

Amber didn't bother to answer and kept eating. She knew Eleanor wouldn't stop talking now, so she feigned to listen. Her bright blue eyes were glued to the opposite side of the street. There was a fountain, she was enraptured by the beauty of the reflection of the sunlight in the water. A man was sitting next it having a sun bath. She wished she could join him to have some time alone before the show.

"- Anyway, Eleanor continued, I hope Louis will be there tonight. Especially at the gala afterwards.", Eleanor sighted a little bit torn by the feeling of sadness slowly overwhelming her.

"- Who?", Amber asked. This statement perked her up. Eleanor rarely loses her bubbly attitude. Only when she was dancing, as far as Amber knew.

"- Somebody I really like, she answered with a small smile and brimming eyes, and he's Mr. Styles best friends.", she was almost drooling now. Amber thought she looked quite funny like that, and wished she had taken a picture.

"- Like Nate in Gossip girl?", was Amber's best comment. Eleanor chuckled and had a sweet laugh.

"- No he's way funnier and way sassier." , she laughed.

She seemed happy when she thought about him. But deep down, Amber knew it wasn't an easy relationship. Eleanor was helplessly in love, but was probably keeping this relationship on a sexual level. A sliver of sadness clouded her eyes. She stared outside for a moment. Probably also mesmerized by the beautiful fountain, Amber thought. After a moment she turned her attention back to Amber. Amber said:

"- You know that if you don't actually try anything, nothing more will ever happen."


Amber was quite experienced when it came to the opposite gender. Seeing Eleanor in such pain, made her want to help. She could ply her knowledge for a good cause. Even if Eleanor had a weird side, Amber still kind of liked her. Although she wasn't going to talk about herself anytime soon, Amber thought that Eleanor deserved to be happy.


"-Maybe I could help." , Amber continued.

Eleanor's eyes lit up as Amber said these words.

"- Would you come with me, if we meet them of course?" She asked with such hope glimmering in her eyes.

"- Sure.", Amber answered, unsure of what she had just got into.
