What They Don't See

Chapter 3: Here I Come London

Finally, I sat down on the stiff plastic chairs that were lined against the glass wall. Eyes drooping, I struggled to stay awake. My bag sat on the chair beside me; a few people trying to find a seat glared as they walked by.

I watched as a girl my age wander around looking for a seat. She had hair that went to her shoulders and blue eyes that hung with exhaustion. She finally gave up trying to find a seat, and came towards me. "Please, please, please may I sit here?" Her voice was soft and smooth and was too sweet in my opinion.

"Sure." I grumbled, pulling my bag onto the floor. She let out a breathy sigh. "thank you so much." The girl sat down and slouched her white shirt covered almost all of her shorts and the black blazer fit perfectly around her. She took in a deep breath before smiling widely, "So who are you?" She asked cautiously playing with the hem of her shorts.

Although she couldn't see my eyes, I felt like she knew I was staring at her. "Riley Miana." I stated with a short blunt answer. "And you are?"

"I-I'm Raylynn Wright, and I'm 20. Is it your first time to London?" I nodded quickly. Her smile seemed to grow, "well what seat are you in?"

My eyes were instantly drawn down to my ticket,"seat A10" I read off.

"Oh cool, so that's by the window. I'm in seat C10 by the isle. And I was told no one will be seated in B10 so it just us two." Ray replied tugging a piece of her loose blonde hair behind her ear. "Okay." I whispered, I pulled my hood off. Forgetting about the bright red hand mark that was visible on my cheek.

I heard a loud gasp come from the left of me. "Holy crowbar, what happened to you?!" Raylynn asked touching my cheek. I pulled back with a hiss and carefully moved my hair to cover my face. "Nothing happened don't worry about it!" I muttered.

Aloud ding came from the speakers that hung above us. "All passengers flying to London, England may now begin boarding at gate C16. I repeat all passengers flying to London, England may now board at gate C16." A woman in monotone said, another loud ding came from the speakers signalling that the broadcast was over.

I stood up and stretched, legs aching from the long walk and arm hurting from carrying my bag. I swept my bag into my arms and headed towards the gate. A loud call came from behind me, "Riley! Wait up." The girl came running behind me; her flats hitting the stone floor at a fast speed. She began to pant by the time she stood next me. "You walk fast." She giggled, her bag at her side.

"Yeah, I know." I mumbled. We reached the lady who stood by the gate her smile wide. "Hello tickets please!" Her voice was a bit flat, but it oozed with venom. "here." I gave her the newly bought ticket. She clipped a hole threw it and handed it back. "next!" I took a breath and walked down the tunnel. Once again Raylynn called after me, we walked practically shoulder to shoulder down the tunnel. She led the way into the plane and called for help to find our seats.
