Unexpected
Chapter 33
*Chloe’s POV*
I wasn’t sure I was ready to tell everyone about my pregnancy just yet but it seemed like the perfect opportunity with everyone in the room.
“I’m pregnant,” I whispered so quietly I could barely hear myself.
“Louder, Chloe,” Harry encouraged from beside me.
“I’m pregnant,” I said, this time loud enough for everyone to hear me.
Looks of shock were directed toward Harry and me and Louis looked sick before passing out on the floor. I felt awful for surprising them like this. Why couldn’t I have just waited like I had planned?
Zayn and Liam pulled Louis up off the floor and set his limp body in the chair on the other side of the room.
“You’re WHAT?!” Aleanbh shouted. All eyes turned toward her. I’ve never heard Aleanbh shout, and, apparently, neither had anyone else in the room. “You’re pregnant??”
Aleanbh looked pissed. She shot me and Harry hateful looks. I was extremely confused since she wasn’t the one with a human growing inside of her.
“I can’t believe this!” She turned and stormed out of the room.
“I’ll go after her,” Liam said calmly. “I know what’s going on. I’ll explain when I get her back in here.”
Liam seemed like this was no big deal, but I could tell behind his calm face he was freaking out. Most likely about my pregnancy. Or so I thought.
*Louis’ POV*
I was riding a roller coaster somewhere in Middle America. The cars were ascending in front of me and I could almost see over the top. The people around me were screaming and getting ready for the plunge we were about to take into the chilling lake below. By now, most of the cars had reached the top and I could see over everything. I put my hands up in the air and let the wind rush through my hair as the weight of the cars pulled us all down. Soon, we were submerged in the lake.
For some reason, the coaster had stopped and we were all stuck, struggling to get out of our seats. Everyone around me tried to get their belts undone, including Chloe and Aleanbh in the front. For some reason, Aleanbh’s stomach was protruding as if she was pregnant instead of Chloe. I got my belt off and rushed over to them, quickly getting them out and above water.
“Louis, thank you!” Chloe yelled, throwing her arms around my neck.
“You saved us, Louis!” Aleanbh exclaimed.
“Louis!” “Louis!” “Louis!” Everyone below the water had stopped struggling and stared up at me, shouting my name.
“Louis!” “Louis!” “Louis!”
I woke up and looked around the room.
“Louis! Good, you’re awake.” Sammie stopped shaking me and backed away.
“What?” I looked at them all, confused. What did she mean, awake? Didn’t I just save Chloe and Aleanbh? How did I get in the hospital? Was I dead?
“You passed out when Chloe told us she’s pregnant,” Niall informed me.
“Oh! Yeah.” I remembered now, Chloe telling us she’s pregnant. I looked over to the bed and saw Harry rubbing Chloe’s stomach, softly singing something. “Where are Liam and Aleanbh?” I noticed they were the only ones not in the room.
“Aleanbh left when Chloe made her announcement and Liam went to get her. He said he’s got something to explain when they get back,” Zayn said.
“Hey, are you alright?” Harry had stopped singing and turned to us.
I nodded. “Yeah, just shocked by the news.”
The door opened and Liam and Aleanbh walked in, Liam’s arm draped across Aleanbh’s shoulders.
“Guys, we have something to tell you,” Liam said, shutting the door behind him. “I think you should all take a seat.”
Everyone not already sitting sat down either on the floor or on the foot of Chloe’s bed.
“First, I’m sorry I ran out like that,” Aleanbh apologized. “It’s just that I’m not used to people…” she paused for a minute before continuing. “I’m not used to people having the same news to share as I do.”
If it was possible, the room grew even more silent. The air grew thick as Liam stared down at the floor. I looked at everyone’s faces, trying to determine who was the most shocked. Chloe and Harry exchanged a glance mixed with surprise, anger, and curiosity. Tess and Zayn stared wide-eyed at the couple standing by the door, and Niall and Sammie had blank looks on their faces. I’ve had enough excitement for today and I honestly don’t want to black out again. There’s no way this is true. I must be sleeping.
“What?” Sammie’s voice came out a little above a whisper. “I’m sorry, what? You’re pregnant, too?”
Aleanbh nodded, her lips sealed tightly together.
“I’ve been here for a day and I can already tell this is more drama than any of you are used to,” Sammie said, somewhat to herself. “How far along are you?”
“I’m not sure, maybe two months,” Aleanbh answered.
“Liam?” Zayn spoke up from the floor beside me.
Liam looked up from the floor and made eye contact with Zayn. “Yeah?”
“When were you planning on telling us?”
Liam looked at everyone. “I, uh,” he fiddled with his fingers for a moment. “I wasn’t.”
“What??” Niall stood up and walked over to Liam. “You weren’t going to tell us your girlfriend is pregnant?”
Liam shook his head slowly.
“Why not?” Harry asked from beside Chloe.
“We, um…” he glanced at Aleanbh and only continued after she’d nodded. “We weren’t going to keep it.”
The silence that we were all becoming too familiar with returned.
“What do you mean you weren’t going to keep it?” Tess whispered.
“That doesn’t matter,” Aleanbh said. “We’ve changed our minds. The baby is staying and we’re going to raise it together.” She reached over and grabbed Liam’s hand. A small smile spread across his face as he realized no one was upset with them.
“And, who knows?” Liam continued. “Maybe our baby and Harry and Chloe’s baby will be best friends.”
There were murmurs of agreement spread around the room as everyone thought about what it would be like to have little kids running around on tour, playing with each other, causing trouble, being adorable.
“Well,” Chloe said with a smile. “This must be just the beginning.”
