Unexpected

Chapter 27

*Chloe’s POV*
I was woken up from my sleep from a banging on the door. I saw Harry was gone so I figured it was him and he just forgot his key. I pulled myself out of bed, walked over to the door, and looked through the hole. Instead of Harry, there was a skinny blonde girl standing on the other side of the door. She looked alright so I pulled the door open a little.
“Can I help you?” I asked.
“Hi,” she said with a smile, “I’m Blair, one of Aleanbh’s friends. She isn’t in her room, I was wondering if you could tell me where she is.”
I opened the door and motioned for her to come inside.
“Sure, I’ll text her,” I said, turning around to grab my phone. The next thing I knew, the door was slammed shut and I was forced to the floor. My hands were bound behind my back and a gag was stuck in my mouth. She pushed me into the bathroom and told me to keep my mouth shut while she climbed into the bed I had so recently gotten out of and pretended to be me. I sat scared in the corner of the bathroom, hoping Harry would come back soon and help me get away.
*Niall’s POV*
We were all finishing our breakfast after Harry left to go back upstairs and I listened to everyone’s conversations.
Louis was busy chatting away with Zayn and Tess about Eleanor, Liam and Aleanbh were having their own conversation about some dinner with her parents when we got back to England, and I was just there. For some reason, my mind has been focused on only one thing recently: Sammie.
I thought back to our date before we had to leave and felt my stomach clench. I felt so bad that I’d taken her out only to tell her I had to leave. She hadn’t texted me since that day and I found myself constantly checking my phone in the hopes that I had a new message from her.
I pulled my phone out of my pocket and checked the time, only to see the new message symbol. I didn’t get my hopes up, which was a good thing, since it was from Harry.
Harry:
Chloe and I will be leaving for a while
Don’t bother asking where we went
I read the message a couple of times. It sounded nothing like Harry. There’s no way he texted me. Something was wrong.
I stood up abruptly and ran out of the dining room. I heard Louis call my name but I didn’t turn around. A few seconds later, I heard multiple pairs of footsteps behind me as everyone followed me down the hall. I ran past the elevators, knowing they would take too long to get down, and ran up the stairs.
My heart dropped as I saw the door to Harry and Chloe’s room wide open. All of their belongings were gone, all that was left was a messy bed and the light in the bathroom was on.
The others all caught up to me, their breath coming out in pants, their hands on their knees. When they saw the empty room, it was silent.
“What happened?” Aleanbh whispered.
“Where did they go?” Asked Louis.
I shrugged my shoulders, not knowing what to tell them. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and showed them the text I got from Harry’s phone this morning. Everyone agreed it sounded nothing like him and there was definitely something wrong. Zayn went to get Paul and we all packed up our things.
We knew we would have to get on the bus as soon as we could and go to the police. We didn’t have a concert for a few more days so we had a little time to find them.
*Harry’s POV*
When we reached the doors of the hotel, we were pushed outside and into a black SUV. Jack climbed into the driver’s seat with Blair taking the passenger side. Jeremy sat between Chloe and me in the back, keeping his hands behind us and his eyes flicking between us from time to time. The duct tape was ripped painfully from our mouths but our hands remained tied together behind our backs.
“Where the hell are you taking us, Blair?” I demanded almost immediately after the duct tape was removed. She turned around and shot me a devious smile.
“Why, home, of course,” she answered.
“Home? No, Blair, I can’t go home, I’m on tour,” I objected.
“Do you really think that matters to me?” she asked, the smile leaving her face. “All those girls are to me is competition. They all want you just as badly as I do. If you continue performing for them, you’re giving them hope. If you break all of their hearts by leaving unannounced, they won’t want you anymore.”
I have to hand it to her; she’s great at thinking things through. That just makes the situation scarier for Chloe and me.
“I suggest you give up all hope of seeing your beloved fans and band members again. No one will ever see you once we get back home. And as for you,” she said, looking at Chloe, “we’ll be disposing of you soon.”
I saw Chloe’s face pale once again as she quickly broke eye contact with Blair.
I looked out the window as well and saw that we were on a road less traveled. There were trees everywhere and few cars driving past. I wondered how we’d gotten here and how long we’d been driving.
Blair turned back around to face the front and we continued the ride in silence. After about an hour of driving through small towns and empty roads, we arrived at a small airport. This wasn’t one of those big airports that always have a lot of people running around, no, this was a private airport. It wasn’t too great looking, either, with the browning walls and unkempt grass out front.
Who would want this place? I thought to myself as Jeremy shoved me out of the vehicle. I watched as Jack hopped out of the driver’s seat and Blair came around the other side with Chloe tight in her grasp. I could tell already that it was going to be hard to get Blair to leave her alone.
We were led into the small, run down building. There were windows toward the back of the small room through which you could see a tiny runway with a plane sitting ready to be flown. In the middle of the windows was a reception area with a pretty girl with straight blonde hair standing behind the desk.
“Hello, my name is Sammie. How may I help you today?” she asked without looking up.
“Raven, party of five,” Blair spoke up.
The girl’s eyes scanned our faces as she entered the name into the small company computer in front of her. I could tell by the look on her face that she was suspicious. It’s not every day that you see two menacing men and an evil looking girl holding on tightly to two other people.
“Sure, let me just go get my uncle,” she said slowly and backed out of the room.
“Must be family owned,” Jeremy mumbled after the girl was out of earshot.
We waited in silence for a few minutes before she returned with a man in his mid-40s following behind her.
“Hi, I’m Jim,” he said, stepping behind the counter and looking at the computer. “It says here you’ve got a flight booked today for 5 to London, is that correct?” He looked up over the rims of his wire glasses at Blair.
She nodded. “That’s right.”
“Well, let’s get going then!” He said happily, clapping his hands together. “We’ll just talk a little about airplane safety and make sure we’ve got everything settled before we take off if that’s alright.”
“We’ve got some time,” Blair answered Jim.
I looked over at the girl and saw her eying Blair suspiciously. There’s no way this girl didn’t think something was up. I mentally crossed my fingers, praying she would call the authorities after we left the room.
We followed Jim into a little room out back and listened to him drone on and on about airplanes. It may have been even worse than being kidnapped.
*Sammie’s POV*
I heard some people come into the reception area while I was going through some files on the computer.
“Hello, my name is Sammie. How may I help you today?” I spit out the line my uncle told me to say every time someone walked in and mentally rolled my eyes at the cliché line.
“Raven, party of five,” one of the girls spoke up, sounding rather annoyed that I’d spoken. The tone in her voice made me want to slap her but I looked at the flights scheduled for today instead. Lucky her, it was here.
“Sure, let me just go get my uncle,” I told them, walking out to the little room off to the side of the building. I’d looked at those people and there was definitely something wrong. Way wrong. Those guys weren’t just friends of the others; they were there for a reason. Plus, people don’t usually keep a tight hold on others unless they’re trying to keep them by their side. The biggest giveaway that something was wrong was that the smallest boy out there was none other than Harry Styles. Correct me if I’m mistaken but the boys don’t travel out of the country the morning before a concert.
I got my uncle and told him there were people here ready to be flown out to their destination and he followed me back into the room where the five people were waiting somewhat patiently to be helped. He greeted the small crowd around the reception area and asked them to follow him out back to talk about the planes and stuff. I never understood why he did that, it was the most boring thing I’ve ever had to endure.
As soon as I could no longer see them, I pulled my phone out from under the desk and called Niall.
