I soon find out that the mysterious boy is Zayn Malik , Perrie’s boyfriend. We instantly become great friends and I knew we were going to have that brother-sister relationship

“So class, This is Hazel our new student! I expect you all to make her feel welcome”

“What about the tradition!” yells some girl on the other end of the risers
‘‘Thank you Penelope I almost forgot” says mr anderson
“What tradition ?” I ask Zayn. Before he could answer Mr.anderson Answered for him.

“Miss. Spencer you are to sing for the class any song of your choosing”

Wait what! No way was I going to sing in front of all of them. I have a HUGE fear of singing in front of people

___________________ZAYN”S POV__________________________

I saw how uncomforatable Hazel was getting, and the other boys saw it to. She was just staring at her feet

“Mr. Anderson, Can we sing with her?” Liam asks.Hazel looks up at us then to the teacher

“Well I suppose if Hazel wants-“

“What! NO WAY! She’s suppose to do it on her own like the rest of us in the beginning of the year!” Penelope yelled.Hazel went back to looking at her feet and I turned to Penelope and give her a death stare.Penelope has been obsessed with us for a very long time. She drove away Niall’s last girlfriend, 2 of liam’s exs and almost drove away perrie and Eleanor.

“Well Hazel it’s up to you. Do you want to sing alone or with a group?”

She was quite and just staring at the ground. It broke my heart that this girl so full of spirit a minute ago now seemed so small and fragile. And it was all Penelope’s fault. In that instant I hated her. I decided to protect hazel like a sister

“Well?’ asks Mr.Anderson,

“She’ll sing with the lads and I” I said as I put my arm around her.

“Is that what you want? “ he asked. She nodded.

“Well your performance will be on Friday You guys may do any song you want, like I said. But it must be approved by me” He made us stand on the risers and sing When I was your man by Bruno mars. Hazel was quiet the rest of the class. At the end of class Penelope came up to us I put my arm around Hazel and tried to get her out quickly.

Zayn Louis liam Niall and Harry? Can I speak with you for a moment?” Said Mr. Anderson. I reluctantly took my arm off of Hazel and went to talk to him, along with the boys.

________________________Hazel’s POV___________________________

I was a nervous wreak. Why did I sign up for this class again? Zayn had his arm around me he looked behind me and was quickly leading me to the door. I already felt close to him. He was like the brother I always wanted.

“Zayn Louis liam Niall and Harry? Can I speak with you for a moment?” Said Mr. Anderson. Zayn looked at me and reluctantly went. I decided to wait for them for two reasons 1) I owe them for not making me sing alone
2) I didn’t know where the cafeteria was and if I did I’d have no one to sit with

That girl that was yelling earlier came behind me”Look you better stay away from the boys or else”I looked at her confused. Why did she want me to stay away from them?

“don’t you give me that innocent shy girl act. I know people like you wanting to use people like my boys to get popular but it’s not going to work your just a fat ugly stupid B****” This brought back terrible childhood memories.

“Is there a problem ladies?” asks Mr. Anderson

“You better not say anything loser” She whispered to me.

“Not at all. I was just telling Hazel here if she wanted a tour around campus”

________ZAYN’S POV____________________________________


“I just wanted to tell you boys I think it’s great you’ve taken her under your wing. She seems very shy”

“She is” Louis says.

“Well she’s going to have to sing the whole song you chose but you boys can sing with her so she won’t have to do a solo”

I stop listening to the teacher and turn to see hazel talking to someone. Then I notice who it is and know nothing could be good with Penelope.

“What’s going on with them?” Harry asks noticing this too.

“Is there a problem ladies?’ Mr. Anderson asks

“Not at all. I was just telling Hazel here if she wanted a tour around campus” Penelope said. But I knew that wasn’t true Hazel
was just staring at the ground trying not to cry.

“That’s very kind of you Penelope! Why don’t you take her to lunch introduce her to some people” Mr. Anderson said
Hazel looked up at me alarmed and with pleading eyes.

“Actually, we were going to show her around since her next class is with Niall anyway.” I quickly said

“Aww that’s too bad I’ll see you around Hazel.” Penelope said as she walked out of the classroom.

“Well we better get going too we need our lunch” Harry says.

I put my arm around her and lead her out the door. As soon as were out the door. Everyone asks her whats wrong

Niall- Are you okay

Harry-What did she say to you?

Louis- It was that B***** again

Liam- God Dammit! Why can’t she just leave us alone?

“Umm lads can you give us a minute? We’ll meet you at the cafeteria” I say.They leave and I turn to hazel

“WHAT DID SHE SAY TO YOU?’

“Nothing.” She wouldn’t look at me and I knew she was lying.

I put my hand under her chin and had her look at me. “Just tell me please” tears were in her eyes and I didn’t want to push her. I sigh as I give up

“Don’t listen to anything she has to say. Penelope is a compulsive liar. She is obsessed with us. She dated Liam two years ago and he broke up with her. She has been trying to make our lives miserable since”

Hazel went back to looking at the ground.

“Look, as long as the lads and I are here she won’t do any thing else to you”

“Promise?’’ She finally willingly looked up at me with hopeful eyes.

“I promise” I say as I pull her into a hug.

_________________LIAM’S POV_________________________

Penelope did something to Hazel and I know it even though she won’t tell us. When I turn and see her almost crying I want to hug her but Zayn has his arm around her. I’m a little jealous. I know he sees Hazel as a sister and he has Perrie but I wish I could be the one comforting her. Zayn asks to be alone with her and the lads and I head to the cafeteria. El and Perrie are already at our usual table.

“What took you so long” El whined
“Penelope” That was all I had to say for the girls to start complaining.

“What did she do this time?’ Perrie asks.
“She did something to Hazel but were not sure what” Niall says sounding defeated.
“Where is she anyway? And where’s Zayn?” Perrie asked.
“he’s trying to get her to tell him what the witch said to her”
“It looks like they’ve gotten close “el says looking at the door. We turn to see them walking together towards us laughing .Oh how I wish that was me.
“You look like your feeling better,” Louis says. She nods as she takes a seat between him and Zayn.
“So Hazel here has some good news.” Zayn states.”You know that new batman movie that we wanted to see “
“Yes! I tried to get you tickets but they were sold out! I literally looked everywhere” Perrie exclaims
“Well you know how the theater downtown was bought a couple months ago and they are going to sell tickets in an hour and we were mad because they were probably going to be sold out by the time we get out of school?”
“Yeah whats your point” Niall asks

“My point is Hazel’s mom is the one who bought the theatre! Hazel called her mom a few minutes ago and long story short we’re going to watch the batman movie!”
Everone cheers and claps at the news
“well im going to get in the lunch line. Wanna come Hazel?”
“sure” she gets up and I lead her to the line. Just then Penelope comes up behind us Great.
“Hazel can I have a word with you?”
“Actually she’s quite busy getting her lunch with me.” I tell her.
“She could afford to skip a few meals.” Penelope says.
“Shut the hell up.” I tell her
“Excuse me?” she yells
“You’re excused” I tell her

She just stands there shocked. Hazel and I continue down the lunch line, with the she devil behind us, and pay for our food. We are about to head over to our table when Penelope hits Hazel’s food tray all over her.
