Self Empowered
Bright Lights
Calla's Pov
I came to and was blinded by bright lights. Immediately I started to panic, I tried to roll out of the bed but something tugged at my wrists and ankles. I look down to see restraints and my sudden forceful movements had caused them to leave shallow gashes in my skin. That wasn't the only thing my sudden movements caused. I felt a warm hand clutching mine and I looked down at it for a few seconds, bewildered as to where it had come from. The sensation was new to me and honestly, quite comforting. I followed the arm attached to it to find a young man about my age staring at me, waiting patiently.
I didn't know what to do. So I screamed at the top of my lungs in absolute terror.
I didn't recognize this man, I didn't know why he was here. Where ever here was. And then I remembered the drunken man, my attacker. This must be his accomplice. His curly hair and innocent green eyes didn't look like an accomplice, but that just goes to show that you can't judge a book by its cover.
"Shhhhh! Love it's okay! I'm here! You're going to be okay!" He told me, stroking my cheek with his free hand. I stoped screaming, if I was going to get out of here screaming wasn't the answer. I looked at my restraints and started tugging again, squirming my whole body and crying out with the effort of it.
"Oh you want those off don't you? You probably have to use the bathroom or something , right?" I nodded frantically to his suggestion, taking any excuse. He gentally released them one by one and helped me up, I looked to his face for a brief second, he had a kind smile upon it.
Then I ran. I ran like my life depended on it. Because it did. As I sprinted through the stark white halls I saw many people with every problem you can think of. I heard the young man from before running after me and calling for me to wait up. I kept my pace, trying to find a way out of this building made to torture people. As I went on, people dressed in these stiffer sweatpants and big t shirts started chasing me too. Just as I saw the exit a woman stepped out in front of me from no where and stabbed me with a needle. Before I could register what was happening, I was falling. Just as I thought I was going to hit the floor, the young man, the accomplice with green eyes caught me. I was trapped.
"No..." I whispered. "Please don't hurt me. Please." I whimpered.
"I won't, I promise." he said in the same level, only his full of hurt. Weird.... Was my last thought and then I blacked out again.
