Embers
Filled With Emotions
"Maybe if you weren't such an insensible bitch, we wouldn't have all these problems!"
"No.."
"Don't look at me like I don't know what I'm talking about. I have to deal with...you all the time. Do you think it's something I enjoy doing? I just want us to be over, no strings attached!"
I rolled over. "No!"
"You fucking bitch!"
Finally, I lurched awake, a loud sob escaping my lips.
Why did I have to dream about my ex?
The door crept open, and Harry poked his head in. "Babe?"
I gestured him to come over, then wrapped my arms around his neck. "Bad dream," I murmured, pushing my face into his shoulder.
He didn't seem to care that I was crying into his shirt. Instead, he sat down next to me and rubbed soothing circles into my back. "Do you want to talk about it?"
I took a deep breath. "It was about my ex."
Harry stiffened. I'd only had one ex, and he'd been abusive. Harry knew all about him.
"I'm sorry, babe," he murmured, wrapping his arms around my waist.
I shook my head. "Not your fault," I mumbled, turning into his arms and wrapping mine around his neck.
Harry gave me a partial smile, laying down so our position would be more comfortable. "Don't blame this on yourself."
I pressed my forehead to his. "I should...I'm the one who wanted him then."
Soft lips pressed against my nose. "Well...now you know you shouldn't. Guys like that can rot in hell for making beautiful girls suffer."
A blush crept onto my cheeks, and I let out a content sigh. "Love you," I mumbled, tucking my face into his neck.
I could feel his smile. "Love ya too."
When I woke up again, everything felt right. Harry was sleeping next to me, but moments later, his eyes fluttered open. He gave me a lazy smile, and I bit my lip gently.
"Hey, you."
His morning voice sounded so familiar, I wanted to cry. I knew I'd heard it half a million times, but there was something about this situation.
I shook the thought out of my head. "Hey, yourself. You look so peaceful when you're sleeping."
He gave a throaty laugh. "What, I don't look peaceful when I'm awake?"
I giggled, rolling onto my stomach. "You do...but you look more stressed, ya know?"
He smiled, then firmly pressed his lips against mine. "Speaking of stressed, I have an interview I need to get ready for. The boys should be here-"
As if on cue, the front door opened, then slammed shut. "Harold, where are you?"
Another giggle left my lips as Louis' voice drifted through the house. Harry leaned back and groaned, wiping a hand over his face. "Gimme a few minutes!"
"What are you doing?"
"None ya business!"
I laughed, pressed a chaste kiss to Harry's cheek, then got up, running my fingers through my hair. I opened the door, and froze as Lou's knuckles came down on my forehead.
"You arse!" I held my hand to my head, rubbing the now sore spot. A small laugh left me, ruining my supposed mad mood.
Louis laughed. "Sorry!"
I playfully pushed his shoulder, and made my way towards the kitchen. "You'll pay for that one, Boo Bear!"
"It was an accident!"
I laughed and pulled down Nutella, popping some bread in the toaster. "Harry, you better plan on eating before you leave!"
I could imagine him rolling his eyes as he shouted back, "Yes, Mum!"
I rolled mine. "Shut up, you."
Two hours later, Harry was at his interview, and I was planning on surprising him by being in the crowd.
"Emmy, hurry! We'll be late!"
I giggled quietly at Eleanor's urgent tone. "Calm down, El. I'm almost done."
As a finishing touch, I grabbed Harry's necklace from the bedside table. He'd forgotten it, even though it was one of his favorites.
I walked out, doing a slow spin for her. "So?"
She smiled and wrapped her arms around my waist. "Amazing. Come on."
Thirty minutes later, I was ushered into the middle row of the crowd. The interviewer, Alan Carr, gave me a thumbs up, then turned towards the cameras. "..Let's hear it for One Direction!"
Eleanor and I cheered with the rest of the fans, going unnoticed by the boys.
About halfway through the interview, Alan threw a quick glance towards Eleanor and I. "So, Harry...any news on Emmy Lou?" he asked, getting comfortable in his chair.
Harry smiled at his hands. "She remembers a lot of our relationship. Just not the part I'm waiting for her to remember."
Alan leaned forward. "And what would that be?"
Harry pursed his lips. "I won't say, because she might be watching this on the tellie, but I will say it has something to do with what I wanted to ask her before she got in the accident."
Alan sat back, amusement clear on his expression. "On the tellie? You think she'd stay at home, instead of meeting me?"
Harry's eyebrows shot up. "Is she here?"
I stifled my giggle as Alan gestured to the crowd. "See if you can see her."
Harry's eyes ghosted over the crowd three times before he found me. Smiling, he pointed to me and said, "There."
A blush rose onto my cheeks, and I pushed my face into my hands momentarily as cameras zoomed in on me. When I glanced back up shyly, the girls who were sitting in front of me were gawking.
"Dude, how did we not notice she was behind us?" one whispered.
I pointedly ignored them as I made my way towards Harry, wrapping my arms around his neck when I reached him. "Hey, you," I murmured, sitting next to him.
Alan cleared his throat to catch the cameraman's attention. "When we come back, we're gonna have a little chat with Emmy Lou, and how's she's dealing with her amnesia!"
Beep.
Okay, so from home, it may not look too bad.
At the studio, everything became hectic the minute the cameras shut off. People were rushing around, fixing the boys' hair, putting concealer on them, and helping me put the lapel mic on, tucking the box in my back pocket. By the time they were done, it was time to start the show again.
"And now we're back, with One Direction and Emmy Lou Jackson!"
I flinched slightly at the whistles and screams that erupted from the crowd. Harry's arm tightened around my waist protectively, not going unnoticed by Alan.
"So, eh, what's going on between you two?" he asked smugly, taking a sip from his drink.
I blushed at what he was implying, even if it was true. "We're good friends."
He nodded. "Hm. Friends with benefits, yeah?"
I swooped my head down into my lap to escape the embarrassment. When I came back up, I put on a smile for the show and said, "Alan!"
He let out a small giggle, then straightened up. "Okay, down to business. How clumsy were you, when you had crutches?"
I pursed my lips. "Well, my third week going, I accidentally broke a plate."
Alan raised an eyebrow. "How many things did you break previous to that, hm?"
I blushed. "Too many my first week. I'm glad I'm done with the damned crutches."
He laughed. "How clumsy are you without the crutches?"
I shrugged. "I'm still clumsy - just not as bad."
Later that night, I was curled up with Harry on the couch, watching our interview. I sighed, closing my eyes.
"Emmy..Em.."
I groaned turned away.
"Babe, wake up..your back's gonna hurt in the morning.."
"I don't care.." I muttered. A small voice in the back of my head seemed to be shouting that I would care in the morning.
Harry chuckled and picked me up, carrying me to our room. "Yeah, you will."
My eyes flashed open when I hit the bed. The sheets were cold.
Not wanting Harry to go anywhere, I tugged on his arm as he turned away from me. "Stay?"
He pursed his lips. "Okay." Rounding his way to the other side of the bed, he crawled in and wrapped his arms around my waist.
I tucked my head into his neck. "So...remember when you said you'd tell me what the special thing was, if I remembered us?" I murmured.
Harry nodded. "Yeah.."
I felt my eyelids droop, but forced them open. "What was it?"
Harry was so quiet, I thought he'd gone to sleep. My tiredness won over, and as my breathing evened out, I heard him murmur something in response.
"No.."
"Don't look at me like I don't know what I'm talking about. I have to deal with...you all the time. Do you think it's something I enjoy doing? I just want us to be over, no strings attached!"

Oh my gosh :D I definitely did not expect over 400 views lol xD
Thank you so much for reading this :D it means a lot to me, even though I honestly have no idea how many of you actually read the notes here, at the end lol :)
Questions of le chapter:
Should I add 5SOS in the story? They'd be completely OOC (Out Of Character), considering idk much about them :)
And, what would you like to see improve? Criticism is always welcome! :))
And...do you guys like the chapter gifs? :)
~Momo xx
Ps: Maybe if we can get this up to 500 views before Monday, I'll update on the weekend (;
Can you please put Flames on here? I am only allowed in the computer at school and the website is blocked. If you could, it would be awesome.
