The key To Destiny
Chapter 1
It was an ordinary day, the sweet air blowing softly against my face, the birds chirping and singing in the trees. My head was stuck inside a book, as usual, and everything seemed peaceful. The novel I was reading was a classic fantasy, The Hobbit. It was very capturing, and I had my head stuck behind it for an hour at least. The stream beside me gurgled and I let out a small sigh. My peaceful reading time was cut short when I heard heavy footsteps running my way. I didn't look up though. I hoped it was just another family passing by, admiring the view.
"Hey Sam! Guess what?" My brother ran towards me.
"What?" I mumbled, still not looking up. I could hear the rest of his group sit down around me.
"Well I was thinking-" "Actually I was thinking" Alex corrected him.
He sighed.
"As I was saying" he sent Alex a glare. " Why don't we start a band?" His eyes were full of excitment.
"We've already got some of the roles" said Jacob. "I'm the guitarist, Keith is the lead who also plays guitar, Ty is the bass, Josh is the drummer for now and Alex just pretends he's cool" Alex sent him a look.
"Aye! I sing too!" he cried. I chuckled.
" Well where do I come in?" I asked, looking up.
"Um well you see Josh will have to back to England and someone needs to do the drums so I was thinking, Jacob can do the drums and you can play guitar!" My face lit up.
"Can I sing as well? " I asked, hopeful. He nodded.
"Whatcha' readin'?" Tyler looked at the book. He read it's title and then nodded.
"I guess you only agreed with Alex to do this because you want to win Amanda over" I smiked at my brother. He shook his head.
"I don't chase girls, they chase me" he replied. I scoffed and turned back to the novel. My brother was a very popular young man. Too popular if you ask me. He get's his way with every girl but his motto is 'Don't chase, muse'. Pretty idiotic.
Then there's Jacob. Jacob was a broad, muscular seventeen year old guy, with short dark hair.
Tyler. Tyler was what you call a ladies man. He was cute enough, but I didn't really think of boys in that way. He always loved taking pictures of himself with girls to say 'I'm popular'. It annoyed me sometimes.
Then there was Alex. He was my favourite out of them all. He wore these glasses that made him look really smart. Which he was.
"So will you do it?" He asked.
"Of course" I answered.
