The Hitchhiker
Summary
I just couldn't take it any longer. I felt trapped and I had to get out. I hated it. I hated that everyone was the same, thought the same, looked the same, and did the same things over and over again. I hated Friday night football games, I hated Saturday morning church meetings, and I hated the parties. Though what I hated the most was that he left me. I understand now why he left, he felt just as trapped. I didn't know where he'd gone to, But I did know this- I knew if I didn't leave now I would stay here forever.
It was two in the morning when I decided to leave. I got out of bed and packed a bag. I got the money I saved up and some food and left, just like that, leaving only the note. I got into my beat up car and drove to the town's entrance, getting out of the vehicle and leaving it behind, knowing she will need it more than I did.
She will miss me, but she had too much on her plate. It's not that I couldn't deal with everything- I just wanted to find him.
I have no clue where I'm going to, but I will not go back, not without finding him first.
The sun was finally coming up and it was a no man's road, empty with big wide fields on each side. My music was playing loud in my ears, and I finally started to feel free- even though I was walking for hours, I was starting somewhere.
That was when he stopped. Sitting in the driver's seat, sleeves rolled to his elbows, a cowboy hat on his head pulling back curls that were ruffled by the slight wind that blew in from the open window. He was squinting from the sun, making the dimples show at his cheeks, and I stopped in my place staring at him. I don't know what possessed me to do such a thing. I know better than to get in a car with a complete stranger.
He is watching me now, his head tilted to the side trying to understand why I am just standing and watching him, and if he should talk first. I take out the ear buds and bend down so I can get a better look at him.
"Hi there" I smile at him. He had green eyes that looked tired.
"Hi" He said peering out at me. I studied him, pinching my lips together as I always did when concentrating.
"You need a ride?" He finally asked. He had a British accent, a long way from the cowboy look he had going on and even though he was the one who stopped for me, he didn't look so trusting.
"Where you driving to?" I ask, my southern accent is strong to my ears after hearing his posh one.
"I don't really know, but I sure would like some company" He finally smiles back at me, he had a nice smile.
I looked down the street, maybe to see if there are any other cars coming our way, then I open up the door and slide in.
I needed to start somewhere, it might as well be here.

Hi sweetie
I don't like writing sequels, I don't know why, but I don't.... If I will write something it will be a short stroy, but don't forget there is one more chapter to go x
