What time is it I wondered crawling out of bed

It was only 8:30

Today my Grandparents, Aunt and cousin are coming to town

I walk to the kitchen to see a not on the counter

The note said "We left to pick up the family at the airport! Be back soon! Love you, mom."

They should have been back by now their plane landed at 5:30

I went to my bathroom and took a shower

I blow dried my hair then lightly curled it then put on some black ripped skinnies and a crop top

The door bell rang

Yay their here!!

I quickly ran over to the door and opens it to see an officer

"Umm, Hello sir. May I help you?"

"Are you Claudia?" He asked

"Umm, yes.."

"May I come in?"

I wasn't suppose to let strangers into the house but he's an officer

"Sure" I reply letting him in

He come in sits on the couch and takes his hat off

"You might wanna sit down" He tells me

"Who are you?"

"My names Steve"

"Ok, Steve... What are you doing here?"

"Your family was in an accident.."

"What?! What happend!?!"

"You see" he says "There was a shooting at the airport and your family umm... Your family died..."

DIED!?
That word hurt so bad
I feel like I have been stabbed in the heart

"All of them?" I ask

He nods his head and walks to me and gives me a big long hug

I didn't know what to do..what to say
All I did was cry

After 10 minutes of balling I ask Steve "What's gonna happen to me?"

"I'm sorry to say this but we'll have to put you up for adoption.."
