You're The One

Chapter Four

Charlotte's POV:

"Struggling to come up with an idea?" After watching him struggle for at least five minutes, I had to give him some help! I guess I'm just too nice of a person.

With his head in his hands I heard Harry answer me under his breath, "Yeah, I have no idea what to draw." It was almost like he was embarrassed.

"I thought the 'popular' gang had everything sorted, knew everything and never got stuck at anything!" The sarcastic words slipped out of my mouth as I began sketching the outline of the lake, almost ruining it before I'd even really started when I realised what I'd said and how it sounded. He's really getting the wrong impression of me. Wait, why is that making me feel...upset? I don't care, I don't care, I don't care what he thinks of me; he's just a stupid idiot who I'd have no chance with anyway!

"Don't mention them; I'm taking this class to get away from them!" Strange? It always seemed like Harry was in love with the attention he got from them, from all the girls especially. However, now I'm actually listening to what he says, I'm not so sure anymore... I think he's stuck with his popularity and can't escape it, but I can't be sure...

"Trouble in paradise?" C'mon, there isn't a girl alive that doesn't secretly love a good old bit of juicy gossip, so don't even think about judging me!

"It doesn't matter, you don't care about how I can't go anywhere without being harassed by one of them, and don't even get me started on Becky and...Ugh why am I even saying this to you, nerd?"

"I was going to help you, but you've got no chance now. Let's get one thing straight, okay? I am NOT a nerd, I'm shy - there's a difference so learn it! Well, if you have space in that pea of a brain you have." Ouch, apply ice to the burned area.

"Umm... Sorry?" Accepting that would have been easy if it wasn't for the cocky, sarcastic attitude and tone he said it in.

"God, just start your 'masterpiece' already, before your hair turns grey! Oh, wait I think your too late." Surprisingly, I'm actually starting to enjoy our little argument, which is so unlike me. I guess he just brings out the worst in myself.

A girls voice echoing my name through the room saved me from the response he was about to throw my way, sometimes I'm so thankful to have a best friend like Sophie; she seems to always know when I'm in a sticky situation. Hmm, she's like some kind of Super Man - a Super Sophie! Maybe I should start calling her that? Anyway, I better go and see what she wants.

"Hey 'Super Sophie', you have no idea how thankful I am for getting me away from him for a minute. Thank you!" Straight from my heart, I don't think I've ever said anything as truthful.

"Yeah, it looked like it was getting heated," she said wiggling her eyebrows suggestively, "I just wanted the gossip on what he's actually like."

"Well I'll tell you what he's like! He's too stuck up his own backside to even think about anything! He's a spoiled little brat who always gets his way, and it pisses me off!"

Obviosly, the whole class had to go silent as I started my mini rant. Ugh, I hope he didn't hear. Who am I kidding? I can see the hurt in his eyes from hear.

I suppose it's time to face the music...
