You're The One

Chapter Three

I couldn't believe my eyes when he walked into the room. Why was he here? Art had always been the one class that only the 'losers' would ever dream of taking; an escape from the tortures of high school really. My only escape. You see I have a love for anything arty: drawing, painting, performing, even writing songs and I don't appreciate people spoiling that!

However, what happened next surprised me even more...

Watching him saunter over to his new seat, I sighed in despair; how could I endure two whole periods with him? Sure, anyone else would be overjoyed, ecstatic even, to have Harry Styles as their partner, but definitely not me!

When he eventually reached his destination, he plopped down onto the empty chair before turning to me.

"Well it looks like I'm stuck with you again!" Jerk. Asshole. Dick. There are not enough bad words to describe him.

"Umm... I don't mean to be rude," that's a lie, "but what are you even doing here?" Maybe I could be more polite, say it in a nicer manner, but quite frankly I don't want to! His attitude stinks so mine will too.

"Harsh. And I wanted to take art okay! You're not the only person allowed to."

Ugh, I'm not even replying to him; he'll just make some smartass comment and I can't deal with it. I can not deal with him!

"Ah, shut you up did it? Thought it would."

I had to physically stop myself from saying something I would soon regret, something that he would hate me for forever by biting my lip. I can't make my last year in school worse than the other 4!

After listening to Mr Inglis drone on forever about our present piece of coursework that we will be starting today, I carefully decided what to draw. Our task was to create a 'masterpiece' using charcoal.

A woman dressed in black staring out at a lake. Alone, hiding in the trees. I usually steer teed clear from the dark, depressing, mysterious pieces, but charcoal is a perfect medium for that mood. Starting straight away is the key for success as you have time for mistakes, time to start again, so I better get on with it!

Harry seemed a little confused, just sitting staring into space. Obviously, he didn't have a clue what to draw, I could give him some of my other ideas, but where's the fun in that? Let him sit aimlessly thinking, and once he's nearly finished drawing this terrible, rubbish idea, inform him of the options he could have done. He'll mentally kill himself as my ideas would have got him a very high grade, and it'll constantly be on his mind.

Oh gosh! I feel so evil, but I kind of like it...
