You Make Me Strong
Going To A New Hell
I woke up to my alarm blaring "Ben Threw" by Of Mice & Men. I groaned and turned it off.
Yay, my first day in a new hell.
I walked over to my closet and pulled out some clothes for the first day. A black cut off Avenged Sevenfold shirt with some jet black skinny jeans and a pair of black vans. My wardrobe mostly consists of black clothing, very few shirts in my closet were colorful or "preppy". I love music, so I wear band t-shirts all the time.
I jumped in the shower and quickly washed up before jumping out and getting dressed. My make up didn't consist of much, just black eyeliner and a dark lipstick. I turned my stereo on and went to straighten my hair. Of Mice & Men blared through the speakers as I pulled my hair up into a small pony tail, leaving my bangs to hang across my face.
I looked in the mirror and sighed.
Fuck my life. Just FUCK MY LIFE!
My backpack was sitting by my bedroom door. I snatched it up as I stormed out of the room. As I stomped down the stairs, I could smell something I haven't smelled in a long time. Pancakes. My stomach growled but I ignored it as I walked into the kitchen. My aunt stood at the stove flipping pancakes onto a plate.
"Goodmorning Aunt Sherry." She jumped at my voice and let out a little laugh.
"Oh, Emileah, you startled me." A small smile crossed my face. "Sit down. Enjoy some breakfast."
"I'm sorry, Aunt Sherry. I really can't. I don't want to be late for my first day of hell. Ohh I meant school." She rolled her eyes at my language and handed me some money for lunch. I mumbled a "thank you" before grabbing my car keys and heading out the door.
The sun was shining brightly and birds were chirping. I hissed at the sun like a vampire and sat down in my car.
I turned the key and the engine revved to life. The stereo in my car was amazing. It was the best thing about my car. I plugged my phone in and clicked on my favorite playlist. Avenged Sevenfold's "Bat Country" played through the speakers as I back out of the drive way.
I sang at the top of my lungs through the whole song. At a stop light, I started head banging, surely getting weird glances from the people in the cars beside me. I didn't care. I loved it.
As I pulled into the school's parking lot, "Second & Sebring" by Of Mice & Men started playing. I instantly turned it off, not wanting to cry before walking into this new hell hole.
I cut the engine and took a deep breath.
"Alright Emi. This is a new start. Don't let anything get to you."
I talk to myself too much for my own good.
