Over Again

"I want you to know that Niall and I kissed," I told Zayn after he sobered up. "And I liked it." Zayn blinked.

"Oh," he said. He was pale. "So...why are you telling me this?"

"I don't know," I said.

"Well... Great," he lingered, looking down at his lap. I go over to Zayn, who still wouldn't look at me, an wrap my arms around him.

"Are you angry at me for going with him?"

"You...left me...and everyone thought it was because rod me. That I knew where you where, Gracie. I couldn't handle all the pressure. It got too much for me, not knowing where you were." He screwed his eyes shut, squeezing them. "And when I did know where you were..."

"Zayn," I say, "Can I meet your girlfriend now?" Zayn sniffles.

"Grace." I'm shocked. He only uses my full name when it's important. "You weren't there for me, like you said you would be always." I look up at him, confused. "We had a falling out....you weren't there when I needed you." I cup his cheek.

"You're a mess," I said, laughing sympathetically.

"I'm a mess," he said, so sad that sad doesn't even begin to describe it. "I really liked her, Grace."

"Zayn....if you said 'liked' and you've been together for that long, she wasn't right for you. You should have said loved," I said, still cupping his cheek. I looked at his glimmering brown eyes.

"Do you love Niall, then?" I looked down.

"No...I've got some other people I need to love, not him," I say. I look down.

"Who," he whispers.

"Brandy...Mum....Ella," I look back up at my best friend. "....and you."
