Over Again

Everyone was talking about Niall's new 'mystery girl.' And it made me sick, knowing that she went to see him, and then kissed him.

But what Niall said was really making me think.

Why did I care if they kissed?

She's just my friend, I should be happy she likes someone I'd approve of.

Why didn't I approve of him then?

I crossed my arms.

"Hey big brother," Safaa said as she entered my room. She tilted her head. "You're angry about Niall and Gracie." I was shocked.

"How did you know that?"

"I can tell things," she said. "Now, do you realize the situation?" She sat on my bed, right across from me. I sat up right, shaking my head in confusion.

Safaa sighed. "You've been friend since you were babies, yes?" I nodded. "So you have had time to get to know her. You thought---think, I mean, that she's just you're best friend."

I knit my eyebrows together. "So you're really, really close. And now that Niall has swept in and taken her from you, you're jealous."

"No I'm not. Why Wouk I be jealous of my two best friends kissing?"

"So I have to spell it out for you, Zayn?" She threw her hands up in desperation. "You like her, Zayn!"

"Tha-that's a lie," I said immediately. "I have Perrie."

She cocked her eyebrow. "Yeah? And when was the last time you've spoken to her?"

"Christmas eve," I say.

"Yeah. And it's almost New Years, Zayn."
