Over Again
Provide
"Oh, Gracie! I haven't seen you in so long!" Zayn brings me in for an unwanted hug. I push him away, and from the look of his face, he doesn't get it.
"The names Gee now, okay?" I cross my arms, the bags still dangling from my arms. "And don't ever touch me like that again." I turn away from him, stumbling as I try to walk away from him.
"Gracie, wait!" He runs in front of me, stopping me from walking away. I narrow my eyes in him. "Please, let me help you."
"No," I simply say. "I don't new help from strangers."
"We are not strangers! I've known you since you were two years old!"
"And you left for three years," I yell at him. "You've missed so much in my life! And God knows what you've done with your little boy band. Bloody hell." I roll my eyes.
"We have a name, you know," he retorts. I smirk.
"No, I don't know, actually. I made it my life goal to never watch you do anything like that again." His jaw drops.
"You didn't watch," he asks. I shake my head. "You had to watch. You should have watched!" He seizes my arms.
"Get off of me!" I push him, and he falls to the ground. He looks confused again. "How do you think I provide for my family? Huh? I have gambling father, a mother who doesn't work, and two sisters to look after!"
He gets up from the ground, taking the groceries from me, and pulls my hand in one swift moment. I know where he's taking me.
"No, Zayn! I am not going back there!" He grunts as I try to break his grip, but he still pulls me to the door of his old house. He opens the door, drops off the groceries I had in the kitchen, and drags me up the stairs. Thank God his family isn't here--I think.
"No! I'm not going in there! I- I can't!" He opens his door, pushin me inside, and locks it behind him. It looks exactly the same as three years ago. I slide down one of the walls and bury my face into my knees.
"How-how do you think I provide for my family," I ask in a small voice.
"Tell me," he says and rubs my knee. I shake my head; it's horrible. Too horrible. "Please, Gracie."
"I told you, it's Gee!" He takes his hand off my knee, scooting away from me. I sigh.
"I fight people in an underground society," I breathe out. "They pay me, to hurt people." I hug my knees, looking anywhere but at Zayn.
"Babes-" he starts, but a flashback of what happened the last day if seen him flashes through my eyes.
"Don't call me babes. Don't call me anything, just leave me alone," I say, getting up. The walls were closing in on me, and I had to get out. Out of his house, out of his room, out of his life. I start to pant as I rush to the door, unlocking it. It was like XFactor all over again.
"Please, Gracie!" I put my hands over my ears.
"No! No! No!" I whispered. It was happening again. As I was running out the door, Waliyha, Doniyha, Safaa and Zayn's mum were walking up their driveway.
"Gracie? What are you doing.."
"I'm sorry, I have to go," I rushed out and past them. I heard Zayn calling me in the distance, but I just kept running. I wasn't going home. No, I wasn't going home.
